Hey fellas, i've been reading these boards since i've gotten the car back in 04 but i've never really posted. Since I finally got my first set of mods I decided i want to be more active around the RA community. so HI
I just installed the rrm sri and udp, along with UR's 2.5" axleback. I didn't want to get a cai cause i didn't want to risk hydrolock (Canadian weather), so I went with the sri. Then i figured since the sri and udp gave me low end gains, i'd try to up my high end as well, which explains why i went 2.5" instead of 2.25".
Now here's my question:
Do u guys think the sri and udp give me enough low end to make up for the 2.5" axleback? My 2nd and 3rd gears pull really nice now... but seems like my 1st lost some... or maybe i'm just imagining things. oh and how much hp/torque gains should I expect from these mods (manual)?

To be honest, Hard to say because people will say "you've gained X amount of power" but have no proof. Very VERY few people dyno with the amount of mods you have listed, in overall, very few Ralliarts have dynoed at all. Your best bet is just to feel it out, invest into an ECU piggyback, RRM or RPW piggybacks work great or even just a wideband, get a tune, then you'll find your horsepower from there.
Just a recommendation. I wouldn't be able to tell you how much you've lost or gained. Also since you're in Toronto I suggest you speak to Ralliart04(Kevin) and check out www.aftershockautomotive.com they are local to you!

Hey man, welcome. Klev is right about both the dyno and getting the piggy.
I do believe that your exhaust may be a little large for your current setup. But, that just means you have room to grow.

an ecu is very tempting... but i still want to stay within warranty, so it kinda scares me.. haha
i'm thinking of just getting a shortshifter. Hopefully quicker shifts will make up for my slight loss in 1st?

check out DangerousDan's thread on a DIY Clutch Block, which is an inexpensive mod that will quicken your shifts if not at least make them more comfortable. try that out first and see if you still want a short shifter.

Welcome! If your interested in the short shifter, I can only highly recommend the B&M kit for the evo (fits the RA) found here: http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...9&cat=6&page=1 might find it cheaper elsewhere.
That and the brass underhood shifter bushings make for a nice click into gear. Unbelievable difference from stock! Had mine for two years, and it only gets better every time I drive it!

thx for the input everyone, but I think im gonna do some hard research before i decide on my next mod. I read up on the wideband, which sounds interesting but I hardly ever drive at WOT. With the new axleback it screams even louder, and cops up here are on the look out for street racers (they have the authority to crush our cars if suspected of street racing). So I'd like to invest in something that'll give me the tune without needing to go WOT (a screaming yellow car can be kinda suspicious ..lol). Which means the ecu ... so im gonna have to think long and hard about how much my warranty means to me... aaaah decisions decisions.
or maybe i'll just save up for coilovers, since i haven't slammed it yet... so many mods.. so little time/money.

I def noticed a loss of responsiveness in 1st and 2nd gear when I had my 2.5" exhaust. I had slightly more done than you have no, but its close. But yes, top-end acceleration was really nice =) Its a good move if you plan on moving to bigger and better things in the short run. Otherwise, I'd stick to 2.25"
I read on some other thread that an exhaust silencer might help me restore some back pressure. Is this true? and if so, any recommendations?
I don't want to downgrade to 2.25 cause that'll just be money wasted, and i'd have an extra axleback just sitting around. If the silencer can reduce some noise and give me back some low-end torque I just might consider one.

it wont do much. the pressure isnt lost because of the free-flow. its lost because the piping is wider and needs more gas to create pressure. a silencer wont hold that much back, especially as the pressure starts to build.
