Something doesn't seem right about that project. I was looking at my evo spindles I was preping today. They where a little rusted so I cleaned them up. They look the same as the es/ls/oz rally ones. I think they mount the same and the arms from the evo aren't needed. It also looks that the arms really wouldn't push them forward. I want to say the front sub frame is what pushed it forward that .9 of an inch. But I don't know, I also think the way those coilovers are adjusted might have something to do with it.

I looked at my evo spindles today I think they mount the same as regular lancers. Now, if the frond control arm mounts to the regular lancer and the evo spindle mounts the same with regular arms, then something else must push the wheels forward that .9 of an inch. I feel its the crossmember. I could be wrong. I am just as interested as you. Wasn't there someone who has done the swap with the arm before, I know I read it somewhere.

It is my personal opinion that it is the evo Knuckles that move the wheel slightly fowards, not the arm. I believe this is the case by looking at the shop manuals for lancer and Evo, the arms seem identical but the knuckles are quite different, it seems obvious that the Evo's hub is further forward on the knuckle compared to its position on the lancer knuckle.

Next time I go to my mothers where I have them stored I will take some pics. Maybe they will help. I will also measure them from certain points and draw up some kind of diagram and cross match it with the ones on my es. you have a set of evo arms right? Have you measured them and compared them up close with your stock ones?

Hey Diavlo. I got some measurements for you. I feel that your good to go if you use the evo control arms. I think the difference is in the spindle and strut area. Take a look at these pics. Let me know if you measure your evo arm to see if it is just about the same.

Ok, so Im back from vacation!

RRM say about another 2 weeks until my Turbo kit arrives. When that does arrive I will also install the new front arms and the oil cooler.

Speaking of the oil cooler, here are pics of everything you need to fit an Evo oil cooler to your 4G69!

Notice how the oil filter bracket assembly has the extra two holes for the eye bolts to connect up the cooler - otherwise its the same as the normal 4G69 one!

This is also the reason why Lancer Evolution wheels look so well fit with the wide fenders. The measurements make the wheels sit further out.
