Cigarette lighter dead
Cigarette lighter dead
Hey all, just went and got a really cool plug-into-the-lighter-transmit-mp3-to-radio gadgets and it wouldnt work - I was about to take it back into the store and decided to try the lighter, a phone charger etc. to find there is just no power getting to the lighter - also it doesn't light up when I turn the cars light on - and the light light that is supposed to shine in the ash/change tray is not working either.
I am hoping its just a fuse or something, but there doesn't seem to be a specific fuse for that... anyone know whats the go there?
Cheers in advance

Just waiting for a break in the rain and the baby to be asleep to go outside and check. When I had a look at the diagram on the underside of the fuse panel cover there wasn't one specifically for that, and everything else works. But yep, will check them all if I have to. Failing that the dealer can sort it out under warranty. But it would be cool to sort it out myself.
Again, cheers guys

I agree and the smell permeates the car whether you smoke in it or have a smoke and get in after. I don't smoke and rarely (just the once as it was someone from work i was offering a ride) let anyone who just smoked in it.
The lighter plug is just very useful for accessories. Too bad there is only one. The Chevy Tahoe my dad had in the 90's had a bunch, and some for the backseat too. Only one was really for a lighter, the rest had rubber dust covers. Too cool.

I've been thinking of that too, I used to have one that split into 4 plug adapter that could be mounted with screws/tape in my last car. Just wondering if its safe/doable to I dunno, splice it to the wiring going to the ciggie lighter and mount it somewhere else so the there isnt a plug always hanging out of the lighter?
That was all it was, that fuse was burned out. I didn't realise that there was a fuse panel behind that cool little compartment - much less a little tweezer tool for pulling them and some spare fuses attached to the back of it. Its all working fine now, guessing something must have spilled on the lighter plug, I dunno.
