Engine misfiring?

While holding a constant speed and constant RPM, I feel a slight misfire or slight bucking. It's difficult to determine whether it's my imagination, bumps in the road, or if the engine isn't running smoothly. My car has almost 50k miles and I have not had the HLA's adjusted .

Does what I describe make sense to anyone? I'm planning to do the valves this weekend, maybe that will take care of this?

Any help is much appreciated.

try running some injector cleaner, not sure why i did that when mine sputtered a bit but it fixed it.. that or it did something at least. I just bought some lucas stuff from Autozone. I use it every 5 tanks.

I just troubleshooted this in my car a couple months ago. It ended up being the pedal position sensor (the speed control thing behind the headlight.) It seems that the connection doesn't always stay tight, or something like that. I haven't replaced mine, but a few times I've unplugged and replugged it and the issue went away for awhile. If it only happens at a constant speed, chances are that's your culprit.

It's the throttle control behind the passenger headlight, right next to the washer fluid. It's impossible to miss; it's where the throttle cable goes.

Chances are it needs to be replaced, but it's not a cheap part. Since you have an 06 I'm sure you have your warranty still. Let the dealer deal with it.

If your Service Engine Soon light is lit, most likely the car is reading a fault with the O2 sensor. mine was doing it BECAUSE I INSTALLED A A/F METER... dont know why but if you intercept the signal.. a random misfire code gets thrown in and the car bucks.... How did I solve it? reset the Ecu and ran stock configuration for a while... never had the code again

But U get a random misfire event if you have that throttle cable thingy unadjusted as well

it kinda has to do with it... mine did start a couple of days after...but @ that time, I raced my car a lot

Took me like 6 races in a ROW for it to start....and they were not 1/4 mile ones either..... TOP SPEED SRS races at them

I left that night with my car limping and bucking until the next day that I came from work. I reset the ECU, took the meter off, downpipe off, intake off and I was gonna take it to the dealership the next day, but after reseting it went away.

P.S> Has to do with the sensor, something about the voltage it uses, if it ever goes down enough, it gives a blurry reading and the ECU craps itself... to this day I havent installeed the A/F again...... thinking about a wide band or a Pyrometer
