I test drove the 08 GTS lancer BEFORE i bought my RA. Test driving the 08 GTS is what convinced me I wanted the RA for sure. RA is more peppier. The GTS just didn't have that umph (torque) we enjoy so much in our RA. It felt beefier/heavier/slower. Were all the accessories nice? Sure. But I wouldn't trade all that for what the 08 lancer had to offer as far as torque. On top of that there isn't a lot to work with for mods. So improving it won't be that easy.

I made my mind up before I bought my RA for 12k... I'm holding it for at least a few years for another RA or maybe forever. Or i might hand it down to my GF when she sells her OZ... and get an Evo?? Or maybe I won't like cars any more and go back to MX.

PS... don't trade in. That just gives them another tool to make it look like you're getting a good deal... look up "Four Square". The best thing to do when buying a car is making it look like you are paying 100% with cash. No financing, no Trade-ins. So you can just haggle on the price.

What's MX?

If you are referring to motorcycles, I've seen way too many of my friends hurt to have any interest at all in them.

Forget blue book numbers, dealers use black book. He showed me the book, it exists. Its figures are lower than that of blue book. I decided back in April of this year to see what a dealer would give me on trade and there little black book was about 1000 to 1500 dollars less than even an average blue book trade.

They guy was a jerk. He said quote why should i give you blue book value for your car when i can buy the same car at an auto action for considerable less. My car was worth 10,200 to 10,500 and they were only offering me 9,000. I was hoping for close to 11,000 if possible (excellent condition, just over 30K miles)

Then he says we'll if you buy that 60K Escalade over there we'll hell we will give you 20K for your trade. If your buying a more expensive vehicle to replace the one you have you'll get more for your trade. If your trading down to a less expensive vehicle they will give you less for your trade.

MX = motocross. I've been racing 21 years. I decided to hang it up after a neck and wrist injury... thinking I could get into cars. But damn they are just as expensive

Just some food for thought. I just traded my 04 RA Sportback w/ 34K miles. They gave me 10K.

It's currently listed at the same dealer for $11.9, so when said and done, they'll only make 1K or so off my RA.
