ok so i read this thread which is really a good one i might say but then i realized that im really the only RA around my area, like the ONLY one, so are you guys saying that major parts for the car are gonna be hard to find? i do like the idea that im out of the ordinary and people double take when they realized the just got burned by not some wanna be lancer, but taking in the fact that its gonna be a pain to find parts for the car make me reconsider trading it, but i dont think that will happen anyway, im lovin it to much..

Yah double edged sword eh?

I'm not sure how much our tranny is different. But other cars DO share our engine. I'm sure the parts will be around for 4-10 years. How long do you plan on keeping your RA? I gotta say... i'm super close to selling my and getting an Evo. Still not decided on an 08 or a 05-06.

1 issue: Fan controller(which was the turbo's fault cause the intake pipe is actually hitting it causing a big dent)

Aside from that I'm lucky I haven't had any issues that weren't harmed by an aftermarket shop. Just a minor oil pan leak(fixed) so far, and the permanent CEL.

05 with 49k km ( I take the bus to school now since it costs 60$ a tank)

So far it's been quite reliable. I've had the same squeaking problems that many have experienced; the driver's side strut mount bearing needed replacing - under warranty.

Other than that it runs very well, engine and transmission still run smoothly, and everything feels solid on the road. I plan on keeping the car long term unless it gets too expensive to maintain. So far so good!

had the bushing over driver side strut replaced at 20k..no problems otherwise.
i drive agrressivley but i don't abuse it..never launch hard but do redline after 1st gear sometimes...had it up to 125 one time...handled it fine..(i don't advocate getting to that speed though)...give it 9.5 out of 10

about 30,000km. No problems at all.

I guess there is one tiny problem, the driver's window is a bit slow. It's not straight in the rails so it goes up crooked.
I don't often drive really hard, but the car has to deal with Canadian prairie winters (below -20 for 2 months+ and down to -40 sometimes). That **** is hell for an engine (and every other mechanical part in the car)

10/10 for reliability.

Mechanically Great ,
Suspention where to start. Rear control arms replaced 3 times for bushing, Struts replaces twice. Sway bar replaces once, Springs replaces once, the list goes on basicly the whole rear suspention Has been replaced. And just this week the from bushings and passager strut was replaced.

7 out of 10 just because I have to keep taking it in to mitsu once a week.

So far my clutch had problems at 23,000. Car wouldnt go into gear when driving for about 20 mins, and it didnt always happen. Took it in and the dealership asked if its a aftermarket clutch, I told them no and they had a hard time believing that. About 5,000 after that I had to get the master cylinder replaced. Then my clutch went at about 40,000, flywheel cracked in half and clutch burned out. Replaced it all out of pocket. Now at 65,000 my trans went and its been in the shop for 8 days. I dont drive the car hard at all, I did when I first got it but dropping the clutch or any serious abuse. So im not all that impressed.
