How does the UDP affect the power output when at idle... do the headlights dim a lot? Will it have enough power to run everything at idle?

Also I've heard your fuel efficiency will suck if you have an intake on in winter. Should I take it off in the winter?

I've heard nothing of the UDP affecting power output while at idle. Works just fine. The UDP, as far as I've heard, is just pure positives. The only downside...it's not free.

As far as fuel efficiency...I had an SRI on my cavalier and I got the same mileage per tank as I did during the summer. So I'm going to say no....should be the same. If it effects it at all...it will be the same for summer. Usually though, your running your heat during the winter...which will lower your mileage per tank.

Alright so my parents are going to be heading down to Dallas next week (we have family there) and we are hoping they can find a RA on the way down, or in Texas somewhere. I've been checking online a lot and I've seen only like 2 RAs between here and Dallas. Anyone know of anywhere else I can check besides ebay, craigslist, kijiji and autotrader for them? I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, so they will be driving strait south down through north dakota, south dakota, nebraska, iowa, missouri, kansas and oklahoma. Any tips or where I can look (or you know of anyone selling one?)

P.S. I would post this in the wanted/for sale forum but I can't post there for whatever reason =)

That's not true, the udp definately affects power output at idle. My lights dim a bunch.

^ people have mentioned it, numerous times. In fact, some people have put in big battery kits to counter the power loss. If you search u will see it. The reason it doesn't get mentioned is because its old news. Those who have been on the forum for a while know these things and the majority of us have had their ra for quite sometime. It appears that there's a bit of a "used ra" crowd thats starting to come on the boards that aren't going to have all this info. But it's nice to see new members!

makes sense. i guess i have seen so many "is the UDP worth it" threads that I would have assumed people with them already would have mentioned that. but hey, learn something new every day. Obviously the positives to the UDP are still enough that the power loss issue isn't a big deal.

I love the udp, one of the most cost efficient mods next to the solid underhood shifter bushings!
