Muffler

I am probably going to upgrade my exhaust soon. I am pretty sure i definately want to keep my cat and do 2 1/4 piping but do not know about the resonator or what muffler a should get. I want my car to be louder than stock but not annoyingly loud on the highway and just everyday driving. I have been looking at mainly the Magnaflow and Megan mufflers but I'm open to other suggestions. What do you guys recommend? Would like to keep the cost down as much as possible also because I'm only 17 and on a tight budget. Thanks

go with magnaflow and deff. stick with the cat if your main objective is a better deeper tone

i baught an HKS universal muffler and had a custom catback made at a muffler shop...i love the sound it puts out, its alittle loud but totally worth the buy imo...puts out a nice deep tone, then gets alittle ricey at higher rpms...i also went with a 2 1/2" piping all the way up to the cat, no rez....

Matching magnaflow muffler and resonator will sound just fine. I'm catless with a 24" magnaflow resonator and a magnaflow muffler and my car isn't raspy or overly loud, IMO.

Also, unless the catback you're building is mandrel bent, don't bother. It won't flow any better than the stock exhaust. Just replace the muffler to get the sound you want.

So should I just keep my resonator and get a new muffler welded on?

Pictures aren't needed, the description gives you all the info you need.

Thanks. What is the difference in the sound of the oval type muffler like the magnaflow everyone seems to be using and a canister muffler like the megan n1?
