In your ignition harness, use an accessory wire. They're usually the bigger wires, but test which one is accessory before cutting//soldering it. It should read 0 Volts DC with the key off and 12-13 Volts with the key on the ACC or ON position. Also put a fuse in line to whatever you are connecting so your wire doesn't burn.

There are a few open fuse slots in the fuse panel under the dash that get power only when the key is on. Use a multimeter to find one, and use that. No cutting/splicing of wires necessary.

I used to have a radar detector hard-wired in this way. If I can find the pic, I'll post it up.

EDIT: Where the red wire plugs in at the center of the pic is hot only when the key is on. Use a crimp-on spade connector, and an inline fuse holder close to the fuse panel to protect the circuit from shorts.

the "safer way to do that so you dont mess things up is to get a fuse tap there and just pug it into that spot it looks like this.
when i took that pic there was a wire under it but i have sence moves it to the tap. but this is a easy way to safe guard things to but ether way is fine. and this comes out easyer if needed you also do not need the inline fuse this way.

Good info, but I am looking for a constant power hook-up, do you know of any fuse holder(# ?) that provides that ? I checked the owners manual for the radio(#13) and domelight(#18) and there is no fuses in the interior fuse panel and I didn't get a voltage reading with my meter.

Where did you buy that fuse tap ?

Try the lower pin of either open spot between the 10A and 30A fuses on the bottom row. The wiring diagram I looked at says those are always on.

I can get those fuse taps in the your photo locally, but they want $16 +taxes each !

The inslot fuse taps can function with either side of the slot since the fuse will connect the power, I can either put it on the power side or the fused side if I want it fused.

I just want to power a blinking LED, so it doesn't need alot of power.

Ok, slot #17(no equipment desination) the second to last one on the bottom row is always hot, slots #13 for the radio and #18 for the dome light is blocked off with the plastic tab so you cannot insert a fuse into it. Also slot #15 for the keysless entry is also always hot. Becareful to ground it onto a true grounded chasis, the metal frame around the fuse area is not grounded, took me awhile to figure it out since I thought that metal frame was grounded.
