To the AT owners out there....

I find the AT in the RA to be one of the better ones I've driven with in full automatic mode, so I've never really found the need to use the tiptronic mode.
Do any of you out there use the tiptronic function much?

Wow! I never knew that! I would've thought that Mitsu give the sporty version of the Lancer this version of the INVECS-II tranny.
The VR-X model in Australia got the shifter out of the EVO VII GT-A - however mated to the 4sp INVECS-II; not the 5sp Auto of the EVO. The 2006 model also had climate control air and 2-din audio as standard.

^ yeah sometimes us aussies get some goodies
i also drive the 2.4 mivec, with 4sp invecs auto
and i love tiptronic, coz i get bored in normal auto
but when i do sometimes drive in auto (when my left hand is busy) i find the gears change intuitivley to my driving style at the time and learns very quickly
also i find that in tiptronic it shifts very fast, faster than most people.

We always get screwed in North america getting all the crappy models. From my personal experience, the sequential stuff is useless because you just need to punch the gas a bit harder for it to change gears by itself so no need for the sequential. My 2Cents. It will never fees like a true manual with a clutch you can modulate or dump.

manual got the 5 speed which i assume would be the same world wide, but the 2.4 upgrade got the invecs tiptronic
It was a standard feature.
Yes, even the ES/LS got the Tippy version, except with a more bland looking shifter.
In 2005, we got a major upgrade to our Lancer line with the introduction of the 4G69 to all models. The 4G94 would be phased out of the ES by 2006 due to it not meeting 'EURO 3' emissions standards.
The ES had the option of the 4G69 motor; while the 4G69 was standard in the LS and VR-X. The VR-X model has all the same features as your Ralliart, except for a few interior differences - as I pointed out earlier.
