i too have the problem with my 06 metallic silver. i vaguely remember a thread on here a long time ago where a guy that had the problem got aftermarket springs and the noise mysteriously disappeared.

hopefully it really was that. because then i can get two birds with one stone when i get my h-tech springs.

getting an aftermarket suspension setup to fix a squeak behind the dash board is just luck. Maybe the suspension was so hard it shook the **** out of the the contact points and wore them down to nothing...?

i dont think its the clutch either, the most the car shakes the more it would make the sound like if i have a really bad shift between 1 and 2nd or something

how about exhaust rattling? I have an after market exhaust, and there was this sound that was coming up behind the dash when it's idling really low, so i went to check the engine bay but i couldn't find the sound.. it seemed like it was only in the cabin coming from behind the dash, but i put my head under the car and discovered that it was coming from the exhaust.. no biggie though, i just need to tighten up the clamps. just a suggestion =)

if you are in neutral and revving the engine, does the sound go up as the RPMs go up? or does it go away at certain rpm points?

no its just when im moving, like you know when you shifting and you have a really bad one cuz your not really paying attention, and you car bounces a bit cuz its not a smooth shift, then it makes that noise
