ok here it is! i got my catback and gt it installed today! when i opened the box there was a package and it said Magnaflow #15805 on it, but when i got it installed it was direct bolt on, and they did no welding at all! it seriously tok 2 guys like 20 min. and i was out of there! it has been raining off and on so this sound clip sucks but it sounds so awesome in person! I also installed my black tails and they look sweeet as well!

BTW if you don't already know... after a few weeks your exhaust sound will change slightly but it isn't bad... just not as annoying loud but still nice and deep =] so just don't freak out when you think it's gotten quieter cause I got worried for a lil while before I found that out

yea i noticed when they were done that it was kinda low, i asked them about it and they showed me why, but assured me there were no worries. i got a lifetime warranty of the installation so if i ever have problems i can just take it back up there!

just make sure after like 2 weeks or so to make sure that the bolts keeping the piping together is still tight cause there's a chance it may get loose with the vibrations of the exhaust... you're probably going to be revving it up pretty high cause you enjoy the sound so much ;P I know I do that sometimes haha

Ive been looking at doing my exhaust now for like 6 months and finally have the money to start ordering. Spent so much time going through forums to figure out what to do... and this one finally answered all my questions. So thanks to everyone who posted in here!

Id love some direct input on what Im looking at doing too if you guys dont mind.

Here is what I plan on so far..

RRM header and downpipe
Magnaflow 14829 Muffler
Mangaflow 94300 HF Cat
Resonator? Magnaflow? Vibrant?
2.25 custom piping

Im addicted to the deep sound and want to do everything I can to keep from going raspy, which I hear the RRM header & dp can cause. Do you think the resonator is necessary and/ what type should I go for?
Canada_Comp you said you had an 18" on yours along with the HF Cat.. what brand and width did you go with?

Thanks to any repliers!

I believe the cat is also from magnaflow. so my system from engine bay to tail pipe goes: Stock header - 2.5 inch flex-pipe - 2.5 inch cat - 2.5 inch, 18 inch long Magnaflow resonator - 2.5 inch Magnaflow XL performance muffler - 3 inch single wall tip.

My piping is 2.5 inches and I havn't had any problems with loss of low down torque. The reason why I went with 2.5 inch was because I was planning to go turbo, but I think i'll scrap that and just get another car =P, but when it's cold out and high idle (1400 RPM) theres A LOT of exhaust coming out the back and fast (high fluid velocity, which is a good thing), I can't imagine how restrictive the stock tip (1.5 inch?) was with the amount coming out the back at 1500.

I think the resonator is necessary because it would otherwise be too loud... I don't know how much the resonator would help with buzzy-ness though... my personal preference though =P

I think with that setup you should be okay with just the Header/Downpipe, Muffler and Cat. Just try it out at first and then if you don't like the sound then add in the resonator. But I think you shoudl be okay without one

Loud doesnt seem to be too much of an issue for police in my state, but loud isnt what im going for either. so I may go with the resonator just to be sure it doesnt go too loud. Though youre right Raikiri, Ive seen a lot of clips of people with just the HF cat and they sound pretty good. Also good to know that a resonator that big will fit with everything else, have a friend who wasn't so sure.. but thats all cleared up.

Thanks for the advice, I think now I'll let my budget make the decision for me

sorry to bring an old post back to life, But I took another vid of my car's exhuast, with the engine warmed up completely (therefore i reved it higher)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3pBfJ0INkA

the camera is about 1 meter behind and to the left of the exhaust outlet (root 2 metres for you who want the vector distance) brought it up to 7000 rpm. (yes I know thats above redline)
posted for future searchers. =) enjoy
