Grinding 4th Gear!!

Hey guys, i noticed in my car, if im at a high rmp in 3rd, or i just rev it up to a high rpm and shift to 4th gear, my gears grind. I know how to drive stick, so its not lack of expirience. I push the clutch through the floor and no matter what it ALWAYS GRINDS.

I just bought my ralliart on november and i love it, only a few minor problems.

I am getting a control arm bushing replaced on monday, and i plan on asking the technicians about the problem, but im worried they will say something like "why would u be at that high of an RPM in third anyways?"

So if anyone has any ideas or has had a similar problem PLEASE HELP so i can mention it to them. Thanks in advance.

its your synchro. mine does that from 2nd to 3rd. a lot of guys have had the same problem and someone usually says its a synchro. i guess its a costly repair. if i go over 5 grand with mine and dont hesitate before shifting, it grinds. push that clutch in just a moment longer and see if it stops. thats how i get around my problem.

i have a warranty on mine, so will they be able to see that it is off without having to go 70+ on the highway and shifting into 4th? like i said im afraid they will tell me "there are no roads that require you to go that fast so why does it matter blah blah"

if there's something wrong with the clutch, and its under warranty, and you don't have any mods for them to blame it on, they should pretty much have to fix it. dont let them weasel and complain their way out of an obligation they have to fix your car.

only mod i have is a sri...i dont think that will void anything

but even to get this control arm bushing replaced it took me months upon months...

"we dont hear the noise u r taking about.." "it is an exhaust hanger"

they are trying so hard to keep dicking me over.

Does it mean the syncro is ruined, or can you just change the tranny fluid? amaine does the same from 2nd to 3rd in high RPM. If not the syncro, what else coulf it be?

Definately syncro, I've have been replaced and what a fight. odds are they will tell you the problem is between the seat and the pedals.

yea, synchro.
when you're shifting from 3rd to 4th, no matter what the rpm, what happens when you pause in neutral for a moment before shifting into 4th? does that help?

yes, it helps because the RPMs drop a little bit more, but pausing in neutral means ill get a slower time.

im taking it into the dealership in an hour..ill let u know what happens. wish me luck..
