stalling out help
I have an 05 Lancer Ralliart 5 speed, injen CAI, UDP, and RRM timing box. When car is cold (im not talking extreme temps here, just after start up, even if car has been running prior that day) the throttle likes to hesitate in the low rpms. Such as, when i give it gas the car doesn't do anything, but after a second it kicks in and will go, but in a jerky manner. It does this throughout gears until car has warmed up a bit. I took it to the dealer and they "fixed it" and charged me for it. Too bad they didn't fix anything at all. I'm going to take it back but i would like to bring some knowledge on my side. Anyone have any ideas? TPS maybe? Thanks in advance.
Anymore background? Did this just start happening? Did you install anything recently? Are you tuned? Adding a CAI can sometimes cause issues such as these on Evos, but I have little context with RAs.
I know what you're talking about. You press on the gas when the engine is near idle, and no matter how far you push the throttle, it just feels like it bogs and bogs and then finally off you go.
Although my car does it, it's not jerky. It just progresses up the rpm band.
I think it -might- have something to do with the SRI, but it's -not- heat soak as the engine is cold when it happens.
Edit: Could also be some kind of engine protect feature?

Sorry I should have specified. CAI and UDP have been on for 1 1/2 years and RRM timing box has been on for about 4 or 5 months. No tune, never had a problem before. Just started happening recently.
