Where to purchase CV axle?

My left front CV has been clicking lately, mostly when I'm stopped and turning the wheel, at least I think it's the CV.

Where do you get new CV joints/axles for these cars? Autozone doesn't seem to carry them, neither does the other big parts stores.

Any word on cost?

That is assuming they have lancers in their yard. Can we use cv joints off es and oz lancers of any year besides the new ones?

My issue is not when on throttle. I just sit there, turn the wheel left then right and it clicks.

Also have a clunking noise from that side too, like when going over bumps. Starting to think its a wheel bearing, because I've recently noticed a sort of "warbling" when turning left at speed.

So just any CV off of a regular Lancer will work?? I figured we'd need a special one for the Ralliart.

You cannot use the Lancer axle from the passenger side. As for the driver side, it's unlikely, but I don't know for sure.

If you're hearing the clicking when the car is still, then your CVs are likely just fine. Easy check would be to put the car on ramps, grab onto the axles, and check for play. With what you're describing, I would venture a guess that you're due for new struts and top mounts.

Wheel bearing issues would present themselves when the car was rolling.

that's.....odd

the only time I've ever heard a clicking while turning on a car before is when a CV has gone bad.

Romanian: Seriously? CV stands for Constant Velocity. They're what go from your transmission to your wheels, like an axle, but they have joints in them that allow them to flex when the wheels are turned. After a while they go bad.

Oh, and my question still hasn't been answered.

WHERE do you buy new CV halfshafts for these cars?

i started a front clicking thread in the suspension section a couple weeks ago, and i still haven't figured it out

raikiri - its not just a cold start for me. its clicking at stop, clicking on turns, and clicking when pulling into a parking spot after over 30 minutes of driving.
