Ralliart upgrades?

I'm considering an srt-4, saturn redline, or the new ralliart, my question is does anyone know if the new 2.4 motor in the ralliart can withstand boost if a turbo is added.

Any car can withstand boost, it's just a matter of how much and how well. Don't expect to see to many turbo'd RA's. It will need time. Can't exactly slap one on and hope it works. It has the long rods and the variable valve timing to contend with but those are relatively easy to rectify. Try looking at turbocharged 3G Eclipses with the 4G64 to see how they've been doing. Basically the same motor.

I don't like the look of the hatchbacks, but what about the nissan sentra se-r, I just heard about the nismo parts, you can get around 200 hp with basic bolt-ons.

Talk to Late_Apex22 about that. He drove a SE-R Spec V and apparently it broke easy. He's getting a MSP now.

stock ralliart kicking butt? I think I've narrowed my search to ralliart or mazdaspeed, I wasn't even considering msp because only 170 hp with turbo and high price, but I did some research and people are paying only 17 to 18k and power can be upgraded pretty easily, have to check em both out now.

I've heard that the 2004s are awd, which makes it my choice for 2004 so far. Lightweight, good looks (for a hatchback), power, comfort, and handling. When is Mitsu gonna wise up and make their Ralliart awd with lsd LIKE SUBARU DOES ON THEIR RS?

only prob is, awd and lsd on the ralliart would jack the price another 3-4 grand easy. i think they wanted to keep it under 20, fully loaded, to compete with the civic si, sentra spec v and focus svt.

all in all, i give a big THANK YOU to mitsubishi for listening to us on our suggestions for the new lancer. here's the best of what we got:

1. mivec engine
2. 4 wheel disc with abs and ebd
3. better suspension
4. tuned exhaust (sounds GREAT)
5. gta seats
6. projector fog lamps
7. evo short shifter

SVT Focus

Has anybody test drove the SVT Focus and compared it to the Ralliart? I test drove a Focus because of the big rebate and was surprised by the torque and really liked it-heated seats, traction control, hid lights. I haven't driven the Ralliart yet, how does it compare. Does anyone know when rebates might go up more?

In Motortrend or Car and Driver they chose the SVT Focus as there favorite. The Raliart was a very close second. Just finished my lease on my 2001 ZX3 I wouldn't buy another one. It was starting to rust on the hatch, the brakes where gone at 26k miles, and it's resale value is crap.

The Lancer seems to have 2 out of 3 of those features, too
