Getting robbed of gas mileage

i recently did my usual oil change on my RA, and notice im not getting as many miles per tank i usually do. my friend said it could be fixed with another oil change.
just wanted to know if that makes a difference. i noticed last time i did my oil change the mobile one filter i had was bigger then the one i got this time around. i called and made sure it was the correct one, even checked two different part stores, they say it was correct. the one i have now is the moblie 1 M1-110, last time it was a M1-104 i believe.

anyone had this prob and fixed it like that? with another oil change?
ima do a bit of searching about the oil filter being diferent one change and then different the next.

well i would average about 100 miles a quarter tank, so about 200 miles at the half mark, right now its hella sucking, maybe about 80 something miles to a quarter tank, my friend said something about trying another oil change but i never heard of that affecting the milage.

i called and tried a cross check on the M1-104 filter, the guy couldnt do it from his computer, so i googled it and it seems the newer RA's use it. maybe someone gave me the filter and got the year wrong on the car, but still dosnt explain the crappy milage im getting. i even reset the ECU, un-did the negative on the batt for a while, came back let it run for like 10 mins and then drove around maybe 20 mins. still sucking.

It's not your oil. Things like your driving, outside temperatures, summer/winter gas, etc all affect your MPG. Hitting 80 miles at the first 1/4 tank is pretty much normal for the car. Getting above that is doing pretty well.

i usually avg about 75-80 at the 1/4 tank. getting 100 would be really granny driving it for my car. i usually avg 300 miles for a full tank

Changing your air filter and spark plugs might help with gas mileage. Check your tire pressure. Dont allow it to drop below 30 psi.

I know that when temperatures start dropping, the car gets a little bit more powerful, and I end up flooring it more often. Flooring it reduces gas mileage :P

Shift like this 1st 3rd 5th, change gears before 3k rpms, go the speed limit.... All of which kinda takes the fun out of driving the car... If your that much into good gas mileage get a hybrid

I do like, but having no car payment is more appealing

I get about 27 mpg all around in my 04 RA. I do a heck of a lot of highway driving, so that helps.
