Nitrous question
Nitrous question
well seince taxes are right around the corner i was thinking of a Nitrous kit for my car i was thinking a 75-100 shot so i need help picking out the parts for better engine mods before i do it. i know forged pistons would be a good start and i want the rrm camshaft and bigger fuel injectors(dont know what size) but other than that im kind of lost so help me out guys thanks.Last edited by deathsythe99; Nov 23, 2010 at 07:46 PM.
Its all in the tune, with N20 start LOW. id say 50-75. get a wet kit, and im prety sure you wouldnt have to worry about injectors as the wet kit mixes the fuel. depending on your mileage too will depend what you need.
just hit 76k so 75 shot would be good with stock internals?
Disclaimer: I don't know very much about nitrous setups.
Wouldn't it make more sense to run a wet shot than it would to start messing with injectors? Also, for the power level you're looking for, wouldn't be a bad idea to use ARP head and main studs to help hold everything together better.

Why go that route?
Why not just use the money towards a better mod for the car that wont put so much tear on to your engine?
I dont know what you have done to your car, but I am sure the money could be put into something better... and something that you wont have to refill whenever you want to have fun.

Well I'm all for nitrous I've sprayed from 35-80 on the street up to 115 at the track, on stock internals without a problem for over 50,000 miles. I'd suggect filling your motor mounts, colder spark plugs, tapping/ evo fuel rail with adapter (don't cut the fuel line) some good tires, and some n/a practice on launching. Everything has it's ups and downs, there's alot of info on this subject from a few years back , search it up. Checkout club4g.org alot of eclipse owners have the bottle (same motor as us).

I am assuming you live in Aurura, IL. Why not do the proper thing and contact a company such as AMS and get the real scoop on running this setup properly..
Rather than dealing with some people who have never installed nitrous or ran on a car themselves, talking to some professionals might be a bit better advice.
I am not knocking anyone here or questioning their abilities, I am simply saying that talking to a shop with this type of a thing might be better off. Especially sense, the OP doesn't seem to know a whole lot on the subject either....

Lol come on Brent , illegal and dangerous , when that turbo spools up (your 99% of the time speeding which is illegal) and I've seen more turbo wrecks/ popped motors than than nitrous ones 10 fold. It's talk like this that gives nitrous a bad name ,well this and the fast and the furious movies. Not trying to start a pissing contest but nitrous is very safe, reliable, and powerful.

Some "cool" and obviously bored cop thought it would be a good idea to write a bunch of tickets concerning suspension and intakes and exhaust internal engine work and in this case aftermarket turbo. The Crown (DA) is arguing the mods are for racing purpose and are unsafe.
Hell, why not pass a law making it illegal to do anything other than put fuel in it and drive it?
That's where we're headed anyway.
I cant remember where I heard this but there is a Country I think its Italy that you can not modify any car without the govt approval. That goes for wheels as well, if you want custom wheels and any other mod for that reason it has to be approved and once it is done you get card saying it is ok to have such mods.....i
