Something is definitely off , it sounds like a semi. Have you looked at your oil/ exhaust? When was your last timing belt replacement done.

That does not sound very good. You should drain the remaining oil out of the car and check for any metallic coloring in the oil. I would do a full oil change that's for sure. If it doesn't get better after changing the oil, don't drive it because you could really be damaging it. Have someone look at it.

is it only at idle? or does it get louder as you press on the accelerator? it could potentially be rod knock...

thats exactly how my oil looked when i drained it. definitely get it looked at and determine if you need to drop that oil pan and see if any of your bearings are spun cause if you keep driving on it and it is rod knock you are going to destroy your engine.

well my question is that when you're on the accelerator does the ticking get louder? or does it stay about the same volume. louder then i would lean more towards rod knock but if its same i'd probably say something with the valves. but thats just a guess

anyone know if we have interference engines? like if the timing is off the pistons will just completely destroy the valves?

at higher rpms past 4k you can hear vibrating on cluch pedal gas pedal and some on the shifter ticking kinda goes away but then comes back when off the accelerator how much would fixing rod knock be?
have you spun any of your bearings? or why was your oil like that? i might only work monday and tuesday so if i could get as much info about droping the oil pan and seeing what i should look for it would be very helpfull.
