i ordered the single unit but i have 2 fans one for a/c and and one for cooling. did i buy the right FCM. i was confused on which the get and when i entered the pn MR968246 i came up in the cart as the singles pn (1355A052). i figured since one cools and the other runs during a/c thats what i would need but im kinda doubting my self and was wonding if i got the right one

My controller module that I got off an 03 just crapped out today while in a drive thru line and scared the **** outta me. The temp shot up to the red line, and of course I got stuck in traffic. Ended up popping the hood and turning it off at stoplights, etc. I will definitely be ordering my 1355A053 by at least tomorrow. (double fan unit, the guy at mitsubishiparts.net did a VIN search and it's the most recent part.)

So i just bought a 04 ralliart and noticed that one of the fans does stay on for 5-10 seconds after shutting the car off. To make im sure i am understanding correctly, what is happening is the fcm (fan control module) is going out correct?

Thanks

Firstly, how many miles on the car?
and if you notice it starting to turn immediately after you turn the car on, or on/off/on/off abnormally (it will be loud and it just won't "sound right"), THEN it is starting to go out. When I get the new one from mitsubishiparts, I will see if it stays on after and post again.

Change the module asap. Either it will fail completely and you'll overheat or your fans will burn out and it will overheat.

Once you install the new one the fans will not stay on after you turn off the car. They turn on at 204 and turn off at 201 Fahrenheit.

i just ripped apart the unit and took out all the circuit board and souderd a wire inside and then coked it up and closed it, plunged it in and works grate runs at 100% and stays on for like 10sec after the car shuts off, but i did all this because i got an Evo rad and the fan by the alt. wouldn't fit so i need to do something to compensate.

i dont see what the big deal is? btw the temp inside my car shows just under half with new Evo rad and moded FCM

Whats weird is alot of ppl have said that their car overjeats really fast but mine hasnt gone past the same temp. Now maybe its cause if i get stuck at a light just changing ill trn it off but even waitin a min or two it doesnt go up. Maybe its cause i got God on my side too. now if mitsuparts just hurries up with my part itll be ok.

Sooo. If you had God on your side, you would know where to find more aftermarket parts for the RA?

Car has 100k miles on it. Sometimes it will turn on then turn off then turn on the turn off for good. Or it may just run for 10 seconds then shut off. I called a dealership today they said they have seen a lot of these issues and that the part is 60 bucks. Since I just bought the car the guy in the sales dept said to bring it in and have his "tech" look at. When I asked if they were going to try to charge me for whatever reason other than maybe the part he said they would work with me and take care of me. Typical to hear that from someone at a stealership lol. Im just going to buy the part and replace myself. Hope to keep reading on the forum. Btw came from a 95 ej2 and thats a little defferent than a mitsu. lol

Thanks,
Aaron

Joke/comment string ruined. You will learn.

Yeah, if you post pics with your dumped RA with deep dish rims and negative camber I will come kill you. Just saying.

But yeah, good choice on ordering the FCM now instead of later. And that 12months/12k miles warranty from mitsuparts is nice too.

Forgive me, I'm short on sleep this week. But on another note, I got my new FCM from mitsuparts. I ordered it on Tuesday, arrived on Friday, and it works like a charm; it turns off with the car, and it doesn't go on/off every ten seconds.
