Attn Ralliartists :)

I just left the dealer after ordering a new fan controller, i asked the advisor why only some cars were recalled on this part but a larger number of them had the issue. He gave me no good answer but did give me mits's number. I called them and they bs'd me of course but did say that if enough people call, they would investigate and if approved you could be reimbursed if you paid out of pocket. It seems the issue comes in when you buy used, they lose track of the car and dont really know how many are faulty. If theres any response to this thread I will post the phone number to call.

I replaced mine at 26k I'm at 62k and I'm seeing that it needs to be replaced again. I'd give it a try but in the end it will probably be such a hassle that it'd be easier just to pay for it and call it a day, or maintainence...

Haven't had any problems

::knocks on wood::

That said, as stated above, it would more than likely be much more simple to pay for it and call it a day, rather than go through all the bull**** and hassle.

Did you replace it yourself? If so, how challenging was it? I fear this in the near future after posting in this thread

ok well ill keep an eye on this thread for a few days and put up more info if its desired. Your probably right about the hassle, its just f'd up that these parts aren't on the recall when they are doing exactly what the parts on the recall are doing. Can't say I was real pleased with the customer service persons attitude at Mits headquarters, nor the service advisor at the dealer. Hell, if I didnt love the car I'd be tempted to go to another brand. Haven't had positive experiences at any of the 3 dealer around here to be honest.
