honda civic si are quick and, like most hondas usually reliable, in other words when the body is no longer safe for road use, the engine will most likely still run...i've known guys that run a honda with very little maintenance for a very long time...but again, everybody and their uncle has one...and if you hate how it looks, don't buy one, you have to be seen in it...i love my lancers, but i have nothing against honda, they are good solid cars...and their transmissions from what i've seen are sturdier than mitsubishi...

it's really up to you man, personally i think lancers look better...

plot this into your equation. if its a DD, and u drive alot over 65mph, than unfortunately, the sentra ser is a better bet. I only say this cuz its a 6 speed and is more tame on the freeway. RA's run nearly 4k rpms at 80 mph, although still managing 27mpg roughly. Also )although your in socal) the open diff on the RA was a definate downfall this past winter for me (central wisconsin snow), the sentra has a limited slip diff.THAT SAID, the diff issue is correctable, albeit for about 1200 dollars plus intall costs. The 6 speed on the other hand, is NOT correctable. The upside of our transmissions makes it a car that takes everyone by suprise off the line. All those fart pipe modded civics will be left wondering (what the hell is that thing? its not an evo but,...) Soooo, Take those things into consideration also.

thats my 2 cents, and now im broke again

As most people have said, ralliarts are fairly rare. People I meet are definitely impressed with my car. The civic is cheaper to mod and parts are more readily available. I really don't like the look of the 2005 si's though and think the RA's win for style hands down.

In regards to the ads you posted, the last one doesn't have mileage or much info about it but looks to be in good shape from the pics. (**EDIT: just noticed you specified on this car) I would definitely get some more info on the turbo one cause if you decide to go turbo, it's gonna run you several grand. If I could have found a turbo RA in decent shape, I would have chosen it.

there is a larger forum community for the SI but for the RA, anything you'll need to know can generally be found here.

Whatever you choose, come back and post a pic. If for some reason you don't go RA, i would def chhose the wrx over the si.

I'd check that turbo RA and if it's good, buy it. If you decide on an SI , i'd get the 4 door one. Good luck

i owned an 04 ralliart since i bought her brand new. also, My ex GF has had an 08 civic SI 4 door for 3 years, she bought it new as well. I drove that car alot. so i have exp with both cars.

performance wise. I'd say ralliart "seems faster" with its tourque. but the civic revs so hi, and the tranny shifts so smooth (best tranny i ever shifted in) however has no tourque and kinda feels slugish. engine = ralliart tranny - honda

interior. even tho the ralliart is 4 years older, i give it to the mitsu. I like it alot more. more room, more comfy and i LOVE the white gauges. the dual dash of the honda is hit or miss. love it or hate it. So I say interior goes to the RA.

looks. Thats opinion. I'm not touching that one (i bought 3 lancers in 5 years. that tells you what i think looks best)

handling. I didnt beat the civic as often as i beat the mitsu. But i must say the RA (with RRM's sway and tie bar) is far better and more predictable than the si. HOwever i pushed the RA further than the civic, so it might not be a good comparasion.

aftermarket. common sense. we get our *** handed to us.

I'd say if your moded the car for speed and have alot of money, go with the RA. If your on a budget, get a used si. tons of parts to buy at 1/3 the price.

edit: AT this point in time, evo's are retardly cheap. spend the extra 3,000-5,000 and get triple the performance and drive circles around the other 2 cars in question. i dont want to be "that guy" who says buy an evo. but its much more affordable than it was back in the day.

Again I have to state this. You can NOT find a decent quality evo here in so cal for under 17k. All u can get under that is beaten to hell or wrecked and need major repair. And 7k is a big chunk of change and is not in most people budgets. Especially those looking at cars such.as ours.
