Ra or si

Sup everyone.. Been trolling on this forum for a minute and thought I mine as well get active on it. I don't know a **** load about cars and I'm not trying to pretend that I do.. All I know is that I've been down for Lancers my whole life but can't find a decent RA for sale anywhere around 70 - 80k miles (so cal).. And SI's are a dime in a dozen it seems which is why I'm veering away from them.. But still want to know what car everyone thinks is better performance wise.. Ruffly like an 04-06 on both cars.. Thanks

If you get the RA with the sun and sound package it's pretty sweet package. The gobs of tq make it quite streetable.

It's a less "polluted" scene than the Si scene. Meaning for as good as the aftermarket scene is, there's an equal amount of bootleg parts.

The RA platform is unique.

need someones opinion on this. I know for this amount of money I can buy one off a private owner and get a car with a ton of hook ups on it already.. problem is I only have 3k saved up at the time and I need a damn car... http://www.everycarlisted.com/ca/azu...aj66f46u047788

That price seems about right for a dealer.

Performance wise, both run low 15s in the 1/4 mile. The SI has more hp but less tq. Most magazines put the SI running lower passes than the RA, only by .2-6 seconds. That wasn't the case last time I checked. I think the SI's come with helical LSD stock? Not 100% sure on that.

The RA is rare, only down side of being rare is that the aftermarket isn't all there compared to the other cars but it's there.

In the end, as usual, it comes down to what you want out of it. Sounds like you're looking for unique+performance, if that's the case then ralliart wins hands down.

Other cars in it's class are cars like the RSX type-S, Impreza RS, Corolla/Matrix XRS and the Sentra SE-R. I knew this before making my personal decision and still waited 3 months to get her, haven't looked back ever since.

I owned a 2008 FG2 nighthawk black pearl Si and absolutely loved it !!!

I still say to myself sometimes that I am going to purchase another one.

I would go with the Si over a RA any day of the week...

I would go with the SI as well. Finding parts for it won't take you a lifetime and won't cost you an arm. I remember seeing a vid of a civic si with intake/header/exhaust rolling on an evo8/9. Not using that as my argument but it does show POTENTIAL.

I personally would never own a Honda as anything more than a daily beater to drive back and forth to work. They remind me too much of like a drivable lego.
