you took it right off the intake manifold? when i cleaned mine, i used TB cleaner, and i even took the throttle plate out, but i just sprayed a rag and wiped it down after using a brush to break away the hard grime...i don't know if it's good or bad to spray liquid right into the throttle body...did you try resetting the ECU and letting it re-learn? it's possible that the build up of crap was resctricting idle air flow, so the computer may have got used to opening just a tad wider, and now the the crud is gone there's more air flow...just a thought, but i would give the reset a go anyway...

That's probably true. The car has about 100.3k miles on it and the Tb has never been cleaned. How do you completely reset the ecu again? I disconnect the battery and remove the ecu right?

no just disconnect the negative side of the battery for like 15 minutes or so, you don't need to remove the ECU...

Tried it, still has a high idle and when I turn it off the symptoms of a stall still occurs. Could it be from low Anitfreeze or air in the cooling system? I notice that a lot of Anitfreeze pored out of the lines that connect to the TB.

Once you reset the ECU you need to let the car learn how to idle again.

When you connect your battery, turn the car on and let it idle for 10-15min in order for it to "discover" how it should be running.

It may take a couple of drives before the computer gets it down pat.

I've had to let me RA re-learn it's idle over a dozen times, it can be a PITA.

Hopefully it's nothing more than letting the ECU sort itself out...

Yeah, I did do that a few times. Idk. I'm going to get some antifreeze and drain my coolants since I'm low. I don't know if that has anything to do with it but ill give it a go. By the way, does anyone know if our cars have a coolant bleeder valve?

im having the same issue with my 05 ralliart... it stalls out at idle intermitantly.. sometimes it idles at 1500 rpm then goes down to 1000... i just bought the car last saturday... I was looking around the engine bay and noticed a vaccum line disconnected from valve cover to the intake... wondering if my TB just got dirty from driving it with that vaccum leak... by the way I have no check engine light on... and have not checked to see if it has any codes
