Lightbulb carbon fiber (ish) dash replacement 2004

I LOVE my 2004 yellow sportback ralliart everyone is always buggin out when they see it and i love the drive on it (but got lots of speeding tix) def a lead foot thriller. I bought it NEW it now has 70,000 and Its been a GREAT car so far but.....

the fake carbon part of the dashboard is all sticky and screwed up, i tried several cleaners and its just worse , horrible actually

it there a replacement made of something better or a way to renew the finish with something else?

Suggestions Please!!!!

I had the same problem , I just replace mine with one from an evo 9 ....but I've thought about wrapping the old one in the di-noc faux carbon fiber, but I'm not sure how it would come out.....

you could paint it with pink nail polish...speeding is for women, cause they can just cry their way out of the ticket...

you could either just sand away all the faux-carbonfiber and paint it whatever color you like. or else look for a used rexpeed CF dash trim

or just buy one the trim off an evo partout

if all goes well tomorrow, I will be buying the cf dash trim off of a evo MR, so I can sell you the dash trim in my car right now. I painted it black and it looks very nice, but I would let it go for very cheap. Just an option. (:

LOL!!!! It just aged poorly I bought it in Vegas & lived there w it for a couple years then so cali now Miami. I guess that material does not fair well with the heat, but others have complained of this too

To the EVO 9 guy, does it fit? how do you put it on? Look the same?

@ Pink Nailpolish HA HA soooo Ghetto!!!

Its coming right off with Goof Off but it looks like a grey plastic under very ugly and painting seems
kinda loving hands at home-ish
im interested in a heat wrap or a new dash from the evo? whats rexpeed? sorry for being ignorant.

I would really like real carbon fiber, that would be sweet. if anybody knows of a kit or somethin .

btw there are 2 parts the main dash and a little piece on the side

What your dog did on the carpet.

Google cures ignorance, in most instances.

http://www.google.ca/search?q=rexpee...ient=firefox-a

They no longer make the dash kit for the Evo 9/ RA applications, AFAIK. Eventually, I am going to paint the dash trim in my car, it's looking a little worn out.

Welcome to the forum, nice to see another Sportback. I have a sportback build thread going in the Show & Shine section.

I found this. 1evo2h8 is this the color you posted? I like yours. Is it hard to get this piece out and do it myself? Or should I take it to a shop?
