He's jerking you around. MSRP on mine wa $21988, the dealer knocked $2K off of that by just going in and asking about it, then I got a $500 grad rebate and another $2000 cashback for Mitsubishi Diamond Days (it was $2K cashback or 0.9% financing).

 

There was an ad here a few weeks ago, for the diamond days stuff, that said for a ralliart cahs price was $18,998 +freight and taxes for a base RA, this was with 0 down, I read the fine print. But I haven't seent ath ad in about 3 weeks now, but I figure they could offer it then so they can still do it now...

However when I phoned the dealer about 3 days ago they quoted me $525/month for RA w/ sun and sound...which adds up to $31500 over the 60 month term, which there's no way I'm paying...I figure when I actually go back to the dealer that I'm not taking it for more then $24-25 000 total price(w/ sun and sound, b/c I gotta have a sunroof), and judging for other numbers here, and the fact that there's 2 dealers in town that compete, I don't that's unreasonable.

 

I'm paying $202 bi-weekly for mine with no sun/sound package but with an extra 7% sales tax (compared to AB) and a 5 year warranty

OK, I got my Lancer w/sun&sound and side airbags after ttl and interest (1.9apr) for 72 months for 22,926 and a few pennies. I was thinking that i got ripped off at first, but I forgot all about destination charge, so actually, I only paid 500 over invoice. My payments are 326/month, but thats only because I got Asset Protection, Upgraded warranty to 7 years, and I had to pay some stupid $250 fee so my dad could cosign (he lives in utah *out of state*). But after all that, I'm still happy with my price just because i get free car washes for LIFE and yup, I take it in every day b4 going somewhere (except sunday bcuz they r closed I figure I'm saving $7 every time I take it in for a car wash, so heck, I guess they will have paid for my car by the time she dies on me.

 

so i should be getting my RA hopefully in less than a month if all goes well, you guys have any major dos and donts. This will be my first car, under my name!

well, after several days of going back and forth between mazda and mitsu, not Westside, but Southside Mitsu, I think I'm getting a good deal...

Was looking at a Mazda 3, but they were ripping me hard on the trade-in, so much taht the bank noticed and denied financing...which is actually a good thing considering now I'm looking at a RA with sun&sound, 7 window tint included, aftermarket alarm w/ remote starter included, and the trade (at a decent #) giving me a payment that's abot $60/month less then the Mazda would've been....

I have no complants b/c although I think the mazda 3 is a little nicer looking inside, the RA is a lot nicer outside, and having finally driven the manual ra instead of auto it does pull harder then the 3...hehe

if all goes well I'll be taking delivery tomorrow, have the tint and alarm put in thurs...


oh, payments are $540/month cdn for all those goodies...and bare in mind I got dinged about $4-5 000 for the trade-in on the saturn.

no, used finanaced, but is way over km'd...we got kinda raped on it when I think look back, but at the time the tranny was dying in my merk and I had no $ to fix it...and the gf really liked the saturn as we looked at it as something to get us through till I finished school...

 

I see how that can really hike the price up.

One thing is for sure though, you will really like the RA once you get it and the loss you took on the Saturn will be a thing of the past.
