not yet and the honest answer probably won't. I can get accelrometer results to show that there is a difference. Reason being the 4g69 is a rare breed here I do know one guy and I am in the process of setting up a test.

Are you able to explain what was being done when "not abusing it"? Also, are there numbers like for the other two cars this was testing on in this thread?

There is a base kt for the 4g69. I now have this on my turbo lancer and when I am not abusing it my liters per 100 is down by 2.5 (thats more MPG) the car is so much more responsive.

Here is a link, this will show how the spark is different:

When not being abused, just normal everyday driving. Here is testamony form a local in a EVOX:

I was out at Brent's and we hooked this up to my car... the difference is extremely noticeable after some tweaking. The increased torque is definitely there even at lower RPM and everything just feels smooth, even compared to the normal uninhibited acceleration of an Evo.

Big difference on the top end as well compared to what I was used - pulls hard straight through to the rev limiter (whatever yours might be). Looked down a couple times and was very close to shi****g myself when I saw how fast I was going.

4b12 numbers: Again from the customers post on our local Mitsu Club site.

ALRIGHT!!!! SO Time to update this baby...Met up with Brent today after work and he tweaked around with the SPDI spark and then we went around for a spin. Pretty significant difference from where I was before...With his huge butt in the car we got these numbers....

40km/h --> 6.5 L
60km/h --> 6.6 L
80km/h --> 6.1 L
100km/h --> 6.8 L
120km/h --> 8.2L

I will re-record some new numbers without Brent slowing me down as soon as I get a chance....probably this weekend.

Overall so far so good...its even MORE sensitive than before...picks up a lot faster...From my previous numbers city driving was sitting around 7.2-8L/100km and now its around 6....highway has improved a lot as well...on my trip to TO we were looking at 10-10.5 which was pretty much regular with just the Works tune...now down to 8ish is pretty sexy....

So far I am pretty impressed, looking forward to the spring when things start to warm up so we can get some sexier numbers!!!! In the mean time I'll post up an update asap with just solo driving...or a lighter passenger
THANKS BRENT~

For my testing I am not testing for gas mileage although better mileage can be had.

I am sure I posted these numbers or similar numbers some time ago. Post#15

Anymore info is good , you can't get some updates info from this guy? And just because I know it will come up, this works with the reflash?

We will have one Major US Supplier that will be carrying this system as they too have been testing it and are very pleased with the results.

Yes it works with the reflash. Confirmed this afternoon I will be testing the system on a local car with the flash.

For what it's worth, I'll chime in here. I visited the shop where Brent was helping develop this system. The guy he works with teaches vehicle system engineering at university and is older, has lots of auto R&D experience. They were very forthcoming answering all questions and showing us. This project has been brought forward the "correct" way, theorize then develop hardware then test then painstakingly rinse-and-repeat for months/years until it's dialed in.

I have no stake in this work, I just wanted to say how admirable it is to see these products developed with such a conscientious and honest effort. And Brent has always been a trustworthy stand-up guy, no exceptions.

Thanks for the words RalliartN.

Testing on the 4g69 RA postponed a bit due to the awesome ice roads I have here. New test date will be set after I get back from TO this coming weekend.

So Brent stopped by on saturday, and we installed the SPDI ignition system on my car again, i was very pleased with the performance of the system. we tried a few different profiles, and did some cruising, and high rpm pulls, within the speed limits of course. The first thing i noticed was that the power output was smoother and more linear feeling. the next thing i noticed was that it seems to pull stronger at higher rpm, where the power normally tapers off. The interesting thing was my AFR's were reading slightly leaner, which would naturally translate into more power, but there was no sign of knock, the engine felt like it was running better than ever, and according to the data output from the ecu, the ecu was pulling fuel to adjust, my guess is because it can hit the target AFR at high rpm with less fuel, due to having a more complete burn during the very small amount of time combustion has to take place at such a rate. i would like to be able to test the system for a longer period of time, and do some extensive datalogging, but unfortunately we didn't have the time, and i think Brent just wanted to show me the progress they've made with fine tuning the system, at least for this engine, as i've tested the system before. This time yielded much better results, and although it was by the seat of my pants, you can really feel the difference this system makes. nothing compared to forced induction, but very similar to going from stock ECU, to a fully tuned ECU. I am very excited about further development of this technology. Thanks Brent for your time, and it was a pleasure...you have no idea how much i wanted to keep it

There are a few different kits. For the DIY person that can do wiring and out source the coils it can be very cheap. Look at the website.

As of January 1st 2013 all prices have come down. Even though the 4g69 is not listed the 4b11/12 generic kit will work perfectly, That is what I am using on my car. All hardware is the same only difference is the SPDi mounting location.

Results from a 1.8t VW Jetta. Now! a NA vehicle won't gain 21tq the conditions inside the combustion chamber is not the same but the system has shown very good results on NA cars.
For those of you with the ability to tune the RA ecu or a piggyback he combination of the two could yield very interesting results.
