Wiring of LED headlight kit

Dear all,

I recently got a Plasmaglow 10875 Lightning Eyes White LED Headlight Kit, but I'm not clear about the wiring about it. My card is 04 Ralliart. Generally, the headlight kit are two strips of LED lights. I'm going to couple the lights with the headlight, so that they will be on when the headlights on. However, I'm not sure where should I crimp the wires from LED. There isn't an instruction with the LED kit and the instructions online are very brief as well.

I was planning to strip the positive and the ground wires of the headlight and crimp them with the corresponding wires of LED together, but I found there were three wires on the headlights. Of cuz, one of them is ground, but I'm not sure which one I should strip in the other two. Anyone can give me any advices? Thank you very much!

Why don't you locate the parking light plug and wire it to that? It's the little peanut bulb in the upper corner of the housing, and it's only 2 wires... Power and ground. If you wire it to the headlight bulb itself, it will turn off if you hit your high beams.

Thank you for your suggestion. I did notice those two bulbs, but I'm not sure when they are on. I'll check it later. If those bulbs are always on when the headlights are on, I'll do that. Thanks a lot!

Thy come on when you turn on your headlight switch to the first notch, or the parking light setting. They stay on with the headlights as well as the high beams

If you splice in to the parking light plugs, the LED's would come on when you have the light switch set for the first notch (parking lights) and second notch (head lamps).

Alternatively you could tie them into the 7.5 amp fuse under the hood.

What's the power draw/amperage on those? Wouldn't want to short the circuit (still need to be careful with LED's!)

Yes, you're absolutely right. This is better, but the problem is it's difficult to me to access to the parking light on passenger side. There are too many stuff in the way and I cannot squeeze my hand in. I'm afraid I have to remove the housing of headlight. Do you have any instruction or diagram for remove the housing?

The driver side is fine for me. There are plenty of room.

I'm not sure, but I don't plan to work on the fuse box. If so, I have to pull the wires from the passenger side headlight to the fuse box, across the entire underhood. I don't think it's good-looking and safe enough.

Do you mean remove all the clips and screws from the bottom and take the front bumper off completely?

Hi guys,

Which is the parking light plug? The stuff just behind the holder of parking light bulb? Or there is something else named with it?

I've tried thousands of times after I wired the LED strips on the parking light, but the parking lights are always on and the LED strips are always off.

I take the LED strip off and test it by directly connect it to the battery terminals. It's on.

I also tried to wire the ground of LED and parking light together, in order to check the connection of the ground, and then connect the power to the battery positive. It's on as well.

So far, I haven't test what is going to happen, when I wire the power the LED and parking light together, and connect the ground to the battery negative. However, before this, I do doubt whether the voltage at parking light is large enough to make the LED on.

Thank you very much!
