Is ralliart underated?

Has anybody had they're RA dyno'd yet?
It seems to me it has to be underated since it was tested faster by MT than the spec-v and svt, yet has less HP? Anyone have any info on this?

A lot more than horsepower determines how "fast" a car is. I think in this day and age, with the market so competitive, no manufacturer (well maybe the Germans still do) will underrate their horsepower if they know they have more. Horsepower sells cars for some people.

He is correct you have to take in the horsepower vs weight of the car and torque etc...you can have a 600hp car but if it weighs 4 tons it isn't much better than a car with less hp and weighs less...follow what I mean...

Plus you have to take into consideration the MIVEC system. I know, the topic has been beaten to death, but it opens up more speed quicker than an SE-R or SVT Focus.

The car feels quick to me. Quicker than it should feel, I believe.

It feels light years faster than my base model RSX was stock for stock. The third gear on the RA actually pulls too. I can see the RA becoming quite fast with the right mods.

On another note anyone know if any big brand names in after market are taking on the RA?

who cares, what can be offered with a Greddy or HKS name that we cant get already. RRM gives us a good intake, exhaust, computer upgrade, suspension stuff. I am sure development is going on eveywhere for more suspension options. Headers are on the way. What is left short of turbo which we can get made all over the place without paying the "name brand" price. Sure variety is nice, but I am not holding my breath for anyone. If there is something out there that someone wants, I can gaurantee that you can get it with a little effort. We will see them all fall suit with time.

It's just easier for us Canadicans to get parts from major brands thats all. I'd love to have RRM parts but the customs and stuff it's a nightmare.

No kidding, man. I get blank stares whenever I try to explain the car. Half the time, people think I have a lowered OZ-Rally. Plus, I always have to dumb it down by describing MIVEC as Mitsu-VTEC.

Although, it sometimes can be a good thing. When this thing takes off, people can't understand how it gets up to speed so fast. And I've got an Auto RA too.

I think what you mean is the HP rating from the factory is on the low side?

I would say yes just from seeing a few dyno's posted here and considering a 18% driveline loss. Closer to 170 at the crank. JMO
