horn trouble

My horn suddenly stooped working. Did some checks and saw that my fuses and horn rely was good, was told that I might have a bad horn. Does anyone know how to replace the horn button????

My horns failed on me also. In my case, the first horn rotted and fell off when I first took off the bumper. The second one is a story I personally still laugh when I think of.

I used my key fob to lock the doors right after parking the car. When I hit the button, the car kinda barfed it's last horn disc while making a sick sound. I was still laughing my **** off when I entered the grocery store and I have been hornless since.

Well, after replacing my horns I realized my horn button is probably dead. Anyone know the exact name of the part so I can order/look for it??

Also, how is it possible this fails??

from what the service guys told me, it goes bad from over use or just plain bad luck. unless you know exactly how to remove the airbag itself and replace the horn button, you are looking at a $700 replacement part. its just called airbag/horn assembly

Its pretty easy to remove the airbag, check the posts that reference steering wheel swap.

Else, just clip the horn wires and put in your own switch near the dash or something.

The procedure itself is not scary if you know what you're doing, but the price of the part is. Clock springs go for about 160$, if it's the whole airbag that needs to be changed, I'll probably end-up ghetto rigging another momentary switch next to the dimmer switch.

I know the work isn't really that difficult at all, just with my work schedule I really dnt have the time to take care of it, plus I was still covered under warranty so I made them replace it for free lol. Just went ahead and got a whole new airbag/horn assembly

Bought a full RA steering for about 50$. That should do it.
