Galant Ralliart Tranny swap, (auto to manual)

Any one know how much of a pain and if it's worth dropping a manual tranny into my Galant Ralliart?

Welcome to the forum.
This is a 6G72 ?
I cannot imagine it would be painful. Research it and source the parts from junk yards and it would be a great summer project.
Parts needed off the top of my head:

ECU from a manual (may need a different wiring harness)
Pedal Assembly
Clutch/Brake master cylinder
Clutch line and slave cylinder
Gearstick and shifter cables
Gearbox
Flywheel
Clutch
Pressure plate
Throwout bearing

On the Lancer Ralliart the manual and automatic share axles you may be lucky like that on the Galant. Your research will answer that.

Good luck and let us know how it goes either way.

I believe the tranny bell housings are different between the 4g and the 6g series. Otherwise there would be a LOT more AWD v6 eclipses over on Club3g and Club4g. You would probably have better luck with a manual tranny from a fourth generation (2006-2012) Eclipse GT.

The parts list should be the same as what 06RA listed. And he is right the wiring harness will be different. i ran into that issue when considering the auto to manual swap on my RA. There are different plugs and things on the tranny and for your pedals.

It's got the 6G75 MIVEC in it, that change any of your thoughts?

Tranny's are a whole new demon for me haha, any you guys would recommend to look for specifically, I found a Miata 6 speed on eBay for $550 and I'll do all the work in the shop I work at with my lead techs help. Just want some thoughts before I pull the trigger on something like this

Miata ????? What how *&^%#%&* gulp.

Search online for the 6G75 and vehicles that would have had it with a manual gearbox.
http://car-part.com and search for a manual 2006 Eclipse like Bakuro said.

I dream of a manual transmission in my 04 RA Sportback. I haven't seen anyone do a writeup on a lancer swap.

It's my daily driver and I work 50-60 hours/week. Not at all likely to happen...
