FYI for you guys on springs

Alright for those who care, I did a little more homework and tested my theory out on my car, and I found that all the lowering springs for the OZ will work just fine on the Ralliart. I bought a set of the progress springs for an OZ and installed just the front springs to see how it looks and it came out PERFECT!! The ride is perfect, and the drop is perfect! Hope that helps every one out.

- how much of drop did you see?
- did you do the back yet?
- how's the ride compared to stock?

would the spring rates be the same, though? I remember reading somewhere that the spring rates on the RA were modified to take advantage of the upgraded suspension.

I wouldn't put OZ Springs on a RA....

I like to have peace of mind that the springs or suspension components were tested and desgined for my car.

OK
first, I am not going to lower the rear of the car. I didnt lower the front to see how it would drive, I lowered the front to even the gap in my wheels. Now it looks like it should have looked stock.

second, the drop is probably a little less than 2" in the front which was about what I was hoping for.

third, the ride is still good. I am not bouncy or anything. the car still rides almost stock. I dont want to say it is EXACTLY like stock because someone else MIGHT do a mod like this and have a LITTLE different opinion. But for the most part the car drives GREAT!

Finally, I talked to Rob at Road Race before I tried this, and he said that the spring rate is a little different between the RA and the OZ. But he also said in the same breathe that when they first got their Ralliart for testing they had installed OZ springs for months and he never had anything negative to say about that setup. So far I have had them on the car for a little less than a week and I LOVE IT! Car looks and drives the way I wanted it to since I bought it.

So, you have a new pair of rear springs just sitting around?

I wonder if your RA accepts Progress, than my sprotback will accept Eibach Pro-Kit?

Still, two inch drop on top of stock in front is a big change. Don't you need a alignment kit?

I am glad someone tried this. I was thinking of doing same with Pro-kit.

spyderx, according to Rob, all springs that are made for the OZ Lancer WILL FIT on the Ralliart without problems. That should be the case ranging from Progress to Eibach to Drop Zone!! And I think the Progress is 1.8" drop to be specific, so to answer the alignment question, NO I dont need one. No I dont think I have ANY camber problem and no it doesnt look weird. Yes I do have a set of rear springs just sitting in my trunk. IF and this is a BIG IF there is ANY camber issue with wear on the tires, it is so minimal that I dont care. I cant see any but I know that isnt everything. As far as pics go, I would have done it already but at the last Lancer club meet at Road Race, I managed to lose my girlfriends camera. I had a TON of pics for you guys too, ranging from the rear strut tower to the MAS and intake stuff. I am going to buy a disposable camera here in about 30 min and I will take all those pics again for you.

ummm, I am not sure if you are asking or stating an opinion or what, but I will respond as if you are asking. Yeah, the springs off the OZ, from any year, will fit on the 04 Ralliart Lancer with NO PROBLEM! They feel great and sit perfect for what I was trying to accomplish. The only difference between the OZ and RA springs is the spring rate...a little. I am happy and dont intend to change anything, any time soon. I have no camber problems and a smooth ride so I think it is perfect.

sooooo, would you think the RA's have stiffer struts? that would be great news once RA aftermarket struts come out

and your car looks sick with the drop and rim choice. good ****.
