I'll tell you now that the Ralliart can be NA and in the 13's...

Get the head ported but only the intake side.... reason is the head flows very well as is and if you do the exhaust side you'll likely see negative results on low end. That will make your 1/4 mile suffer.

Next port the intake manifold... every little bit counts!

Get the TB bored out as well.

Leave the bottom end alone... trust me it is too nice and the curves are sweet. While the head is off have it decked about .010-.015(be careful of vlv clearance) to give you a slight increase in compression.

Then get the downpipe and the axle back... leave the rest of the piping stock as this will help maintain the low end grunt you'll need in the quarter.

CAI would be needed as well and remove the fog light out of the bumper so you can get some colder air in there.

Clutch line upgrade from RRM and get the flywheel.

Finally the piggy back or some fuel management system that will allow you to have the car tuned for the mods you've done.

On good tires like drag radials you should be in the 13's. I've driven the car with most of these mods(except porting,TB,flywheel, clutch) i know it's a 14 second car. I'd say about 14.5-14.8 easily.

That's my advice.

Boe, I agree. I don't want to lose my foglights, so I/'m going to have the plastic surround on the foglights replaced by wire mesh to match the airdam and grill in the hopes of getting more cold air and keep my fogs.

PS - was that MIVEC article actually informative or was that sarcasm - just curious

Heres what you might want to do. First of all, get carbon fibre hoods and trunk. Then throw out the spare tires, get rid of the passenger seat, and try to pull out the back seat if you can. You need to throw out stuff that doesnt make you go faster (parasite drag). Then get nitrous, cai, better tires, new ecu, and exhaust. After that, you might be able to save some pounds and add some hp to your car. If not sure if this will help, but forge another piston with higher compression ratio. This is the way if you want to be the fastest NA RA. But i highly doubt that it will go high 13's (maybe low 14's?)

The car WILL hit 13's without FI. I think Boe is probably pretty close to accurate as to how it is accomplished too, but I think that motor internals will have to be changed and the car will need 11.5 or 12 to 1 compression. Then you will see some good STRONG 13 second times...no turbo...no bottle

Funny. I can't believe you said that. Low 14's maybe? Dude my RA is a 14.9 second car ATM and it only has cold air and catback with a B&M ss. The only weight reduction I even have done is my spare tire. If I took out the seats, put on some headers, got the downpipe, with tires alone I should be in the low 14's. Add the ECU and a few other mods they're expected to release and I'll have a low 14 WITHOUT A DOUBT possibley a high 13 second car.

Guaranteed.

No nitro, unless you want to buy another engine. I would think if you keep the car fairly stock weight wise, you will need a turbo, a big one.

Yeah i forgot a few other things:

1) Short Shifter with bushings
2) simple wieght reduction ie: spare tire and tools/front impact rollers(like 10lbs each attaced to front lower support beam)... look under there you'll see them, the passenger seat(4 bolts... simple and easy) Front bumper impact/guard beam(big black sucker... requires bumper removal--5 minutes, and 4 bolts out--5 minutes-- bumper reinstall--5 minutes)

I know the Ralliart is a 13 second NA car. If there is an owner with a ralliart close to RRM that wants to take this PEPSI challenge contact ROCK on this. Get your cash ready and open some of your scheduale. I know ROCK will ease some costs in the name of sponsorship for one guy and one guy only but you must be local to the shop. IE: within an hours drive or so. Please don't expect a "FREE" hand but a 10-15% break is possible. Also to save you cash you'll be allowed to install your items at the shop with our guidance. Call for full details.

it is and for the most part it is true but if the car is your daily driver then you'll want to be conservative on the weight reductions.

if a local RA guy would come up and do all the mods we suggest... RRM would support him with some discounts and on hand expertise. This is for an NA guy only. RRM will do it's own turbo stuff...

The NA guys that want the 13 second car should come in and step up. It will be your chance to save some cash and get the fame of being the fastest NA RALLIART. RRM has always had the fastest lancers for a reason. However RRM rarely takes on sponsorships of any kind. Thus if some RA owner was willing to step up with some cash he'd save a bundle and get the most custom NA RA out there that would mistify and humiliate a lot of people at the track and on the highway.
