Possible to change the gauge cluster LED color?
yea, now all we need is someone to make the face plates for us
unless you just want all blue, then i think that would just be a matter of changing the bulbs, and removing the current face, or just painting the current face blue...

Damn, the list keeps getting longer! I'll still be working on that Lancer 5 years from now!!!

That's a completely different undertaking... if you are not familiar with electronics maintenance, I'd advise against trying this out.
As per my experience with those things:
To change the unit's illumination color, you normally have to open the whole thing, remove the existing illumination LED (LEDs) and install (solder in) a new LED (LEDs) of the chosen color. Nowadays, most illumination LEDs are soldered directly on the PC-board of the unit (no standalone LEDs). So by removing and re-soldering directly on the board, you run the chance of burning the auxiliary PC-board up to the point where it will short-circuit another trace or cut some important traces.
This intervention should also void any kind of waranty you might still have on the unit.
Can anybody confirm this procedure for the Lancer unit though?
Now, as a (much more simple and secure) backup plan:
In certain instances, you might be able to simply open the unit and place some tinted material between the LED (LEDs) and the display. A satisfying result may be obtained for some colors, but would not be helpful in other cases.
In the example given, the blue tint might be turned to red by trying different red and/or orange filters. The resulting illumination will ALWAYS be less powerfull than the original setup, but it might suit some owners...
Good luck in trying this out. If you do, please let us know how it turned out...
