2004 Ralliart Grill inserts

Greetings all,

Proud new owner of a silver ralliart and had a question to any other Lancer experts out there. At the dealer they offered mesh grill inserts that I thought really looked nice. When I inquired about them at the parts dept, they knocked me out with a price tag of $300!! (CDN mind you but still). To top off this shock, they are not a metal mesh, the entire thing is plastic I believe and there is no way I am paying that kind of change for two relatively small pieces of plastic.

So question is, are these available aftermarket or somewhere cheaper???

Many thanks and I look forward to chatting with other Ralliart and Lancer enthusiasts in the future.

Cdnrally

Make your own. There's a thread that has steps on how to do it picture by picture.

I have been looking and I haven't found anything yet. These Lancer models are still pretty new, so the aftermarket hasn't really put anything out as of yet. That is the one thing I really want to mod right now too.

i was going to buy replacement stock ones from the dealer and mod those, so i don't have to worry about facking up, but at $65 CAD a piece they are pretty expensive

Actually, chicken wire isn't the best thing to use. Gutter gaurd mesh is....its stiffer and stronger.....chicken wire is likely to deform over time from small road debree (stones) and from the head wind. Just so ya know ;-)

I worked with stainless concrete mesh for my Integra and did a real good job with it... It's damn cheap and you can get it at any home improvement store. You will need very good wire cutters though...
