jap lancer laughing at us

i was just bored and decided to check out the lancers on the jap site, i am pretty pissed to be stuck in north america. if anyone can read jap, or just wants to click around like me, it's not hard if you're used to looking at manufacturer's sites, the url is http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.jp/LANCER/index.html anyway lemme just explain a bit why i am pissed off...

first of all, they have nicer lights, it's blue-ish and looks sick
then their interior had ralliart buckets http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.jp/LANCER/interior.html
they also had a much nicer and sportier leather wrapped 3 spoke steering wheel
they also had a sports automatic, which is convenient
they had more variety and BETTER colours
but what will REALLY tick you all off, is that they have a MX touring model, which has AWD! AWD! AWD! and if anyone is into dragging, you'll know that FF cars are the worst for dragging, awd is the way to go, also for rallying fans...

poor us.. =(

Heres the catch for North American Lancers. Eventhough we do not have the AWD (sad sad lost) but he do have things that are better than Jap Lancer Lancers.
  • Not all Jap Lancers are DOHC. Only the 2WD MX-Touring/SE-G with Mitsubishi・LA-CS5A engine has it.
  • Jap Lancers do have the AWD Lancers, it is only a 1.5L SOHC engine. Lancers in North America is 2.4L SOHC but 2WD.
  • N.A. Lancers have higher hp and torque than Jap Lancers.
  • You can throw out those stock seats and get yourself some nice bucket seats if you want than those Ralliart seats (Mitsubishi wont give u the good seats).
  • You can also throw away that stock steering wheel and get some fancy ones to customize it in ur style.

Heres all the good things that N.A. Lancer Lancers have that Jap Lancer Lancers dont. But the only thing Jap Mitsubishi is better than N.A. Mitsubhishi is that they offer a whole lot more Lancers.

If you really want to feel owned, read the wagon page...

"4G93 GDI 1800 DOHC 16VALVE INTERCOOLER TURBO ENGINE INVECS"

Edit: Actually, nevermind. I did the power conversions and the smaller, turboed engine has nearly the same output' approximately 162hp, 162fp/s torque.

I think those are HIDs aren't they?

also if you notice they have relocated the a/c controls to the lower DIN.. I wonder if it's do-able on ours?

Welcome to December when we had a post about this already. The japanese model comes standard with HID's and have an option of all wheel drive or turbo models. With the turbo however it is still the same HP as ours so it is not that great...there are some nice options a lot of us were drooling at but I haven't heard of anyone getting off their butt to try to ask the dealer if we can order. If anyone ACTUALLY does anything about this and asks the dealer for pricing to get the conversion parts please list...this is the 3rd post on this already and still no news.

because this is another example of a waste of bandwidth...this has already been posted numerous times. I could care less to be honest whether anyone gets it or finds some or not...but for the sake of making this post atleast partially valid and not another repeat of the same crap we went over back in december when this was new news...it would be nice if someone actually went and got prices so then this could atleast be a constructive thread. It gets old reading the same crap that happened 6 months ago with no change...and it is a waste of bandwidth. Apparently you do care...so why don't you get the part numbers then

So everyone here, new or old, is required to read the entire history of posts to insure no duplicates are made?

I came here a month or so ago, and resurrected an old at/mt thread that was closed on me. I sent the mod a PM and he told me not to bring up old posts, just make new ones.

Search button does wonders....people amaze me that never try to look up japanese spec lancer or such ....you just might have found the same lengthy post about the same exact topic...Still nobody has gotten any of the parts though so yes it is a waste of bandwidth...so is the stupid back and forth squabbling we are doing now...go to babelfish and translate the japanese page and catch up with the last post...if you get new info ...then post ...be helpful! the same info over and over again only makes the search complicated (for people as yourself) by adding usless search threads for the same topic which went nowhere to begin with...New to chat boards I guess?

No, I'm not new by any means. Convienient that YOU IGNORED THE FACT THAT A MOD ASKED ME TO MAKE NEW TOPICS INSTEAD OF PULLING UP OLD ONES.

I think you might need this:

I think you missed the wonderful part where the Mod said MAKE NEW TOPICS! in other words for the not so quick ones here...something that has not been talked about before ding ding...we have a winner...otherwise ...thus it would be an OLD topic now wouldn't it ...which is exactly what you are pulling up in a different thread...you are making this too easy...you should quit while you can.
