What type of stock muffler does a RA have and what would be the difference of it compared with a RRM axel back? Aside from the sound it produces...i'm more after the performance. Would I be better off getting it?

Since i'd be getting an RRM SRI, I think there would be a loud sound that would be coming from that already

You arent really going to recognize much for just an axleback alone, same goes for a full catback from what I have heard

My understanding is that the Ralliarts already have a fairly decent exhaust, so as stated above you won't gain much by doing an axleback setup. However, as you add *other* things, the axleback will make a difference. Basically, you put it on now, so it's not a hinderance later on. Setting the stage, if you will...

won't the stock muffler make a difference too if I added "other things"? since it's a pretty decent exhaust...?

the stock muffler is good. But performance exhausts do help. They might not do much alone, but in combination with CAI, or turbo, they make a good bit of difference. I just got a carbon fiber muffler and had custom piping done, sounds awesome and i def. notice more top end

now i was wondering about the exahust on the ra, what size is it and if i do get a cat-back, do i need to go bigger? or should i just keep it the same and just go axel back? i was thinking 2.25" but i cant seem to get some custom piping in mendrel bend only crush (and i know that crush isnt that great for power). so would 2.5" make up for the diffrence in power?

i would say go with RRM's axle back. That's a good piece right there. The RA's piping isnt very restrictive to begin with, so the axle back should suffice

What kind of sound are we talking from the axleback? Is it low and deep like the magnaflow?
Anyone have any sound clips?

there are sound clips in another thread...2.5" crush bend would make up the difference...although I would say that there really isn't any bends over 30-40 degrees so a crush bent system wouldn't make a difference anyways. Just make sure you include a resonator or a really good muffler that is similar to the RRM.
