Lancershop.com Short-shifter kit
Hey all - have any of you tried out the lancershop shortshifter kit? I want to order the metal shift bushings (underhood and for the shift mount) but for an extra $50 I can just get the kit (includes the bushings, short shifter, counterweight shift knob, plastic thing).
Should I spring for the extra $$$ and the better deal, or is this shift kit not worth it?
Oh, and I searched around on the Evo forum, and found only one thread about the thing, but not much as far as reviews go.

Just the bushings comes out to around $60. The whole kit comes out to $109. Shipping doesn't apply since their warehouse is 10 minutes away from me. I'd basically be paying an extra $50 or so to get a shift knob, short throw stick, and that plastic mount thing.
Maybe I'll be the test monkey and get it, see how it does.

Just the plastic mitsu part is $15. Shift nob is probably $20 to $30. Then add in the shifter and parts...
Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
I installed a set of brass shifter bushings in my RA, I love them. The shifts are very precise and firm feeling.
If you get the short shifter, can you post a review? I'm interested in one.
Thanks.

I think so.
It makes it feel like a "race car" shifter. Very posative shift feel. No squisy rubber to make it sloppy.. hmmm... Hard to really explain.
OK, let me put it like this, it is probably the best upgrade (besides CAI) that I have done. Definately the best $60 I spent on the car.
My fiance wants a set in her OZ after driving my RA.

LS shifter installed
Hey all, I installed the short shifter and shift mount bushings last night, and it feels great! Everything fit with no problem, shifting is much better than before. I can't wait to get the underhood bushings in and finish the job.
Looking at this shifter closely, I can't see a whole lot of difference between it and the B&M (non-adjustable) version. Installation took me about 45 minutes, at a leisurely pace, and no cutting of the shift mount was involved (have about 1-2mm clearance left, very close).
This kit is a steal at $109, considering the B&M shifter by itself is $140 (without bushings, shift retainer, and counterweight shift knob.)
