ok,
I have 17x7 OZ wheels. They are 15 lbs eacha and I', running a 215 40-17, kumho ecsta MX. I can honnestly say I have not noticed a "difference" in wheight. What I did notice was better cornering cause of the sticky tires I have. I also changed the brake pads, so I do notice better stopping. Acceleration is better cause of the sticky rubber. I'm going to the auto-x course in 2 weeks and I will find out more out there about the light weight wheels. Also, as far as I know these OZ superleggera's are VERY strong as well, I;m going to the dyno soon also, well see what kind of numbers I get.

So what your saying is ROTA (and Ro_Ja) are knock off clowns?
I don't think its really a fair assesment. Just because someone doesn't have $5k to drop on a set of VOLK'S doesn't make them a ricer. Nor does it mean that the rim is a POS. Thats kinda harsh if thats how you meant it dude.

daddymac.. Rota and Ro_ja, etc don't make their own wheels.. they sub-contract it out to some asian country and they make it there.. Ro_ja wheels are more expensive only because it's "endorsed" by the man..

how much you paying for Ro_ja?
i doubt that they are real forged rims
i am getting a set of BBS forged rims from Japan (like my friend's mini) and it cost almost $500 CAD a rim + shipping and taxes

The Ro_Ja's I'm getting retail for about $569ea. The package price would have been about $3299. I called 3 different place's to verify the retail on these before going for them. So I know for a fact that they are INDEED forged wheels and do cost the amount I was told.

I have 18" wheels, and I must say that when I do change them back to the original 16" I notice a difference in acceleration. The car gets going quicker with the 16" wheels and the steering is more responsive. With the 18", acceleration is minimally slower, however is noticable when you switch the tires and drive. Handling is improved tremendously with the bigger wheels and you definately notice every blemish in the road.
Just remember laws of physics for this one. the greater the mass, the more force required to move it. Decrease the mass, less force will be required to stop it. Hope this helps.
