Installed new EBC pads...

My Axxis Ultimates were shot (about 25K miles), so I decided to try the EBC Redstuff (DP31614C) pads. The Axxis had excellent stopping power and rarely squealed, but too damn dusty! Some Evo guys swear by the EBC's, so we'll see.

I'll update after about a week when I get a better feel for braking performance and dust levels. Until then...

Alright, can't wait to hear the comparision... I too have Brembo slotted/drilled rotors w/ Axxis Ultimate pads. Dust is the one and only complaint. In the EBC line, is Redstuff considered the mid-range pad? Kinda like how the MetalMasters would be to the Axxis line?

Anyhow, enjoy!!!

Waiting for your review, as well. I love the axxis pads, but don't have the dedication to wash my wheels 3 times per week. I was thinking about painting my wheels black just so I don't have to see the dust.

Excellent. I was hoping someone would install and review the redstuff pads. Those are the ones I've been eyeballing for a while.

I ran EBC Green Stuffs on my last car and they hardly suffered brake fade in extreme hill / race / touge conditions ... I rate EBC's highly.

+1 on that EBC are great pads... just a quick one for you (reTro) tho with the disc upgraded to drilled and slotted did you keep the same size or go bigger if you changed out to the bigger size did you swap out the calipers as well to something else...

^^^I went with same size rotors. BTW they are not drilled, just dimpled and slotted. Someone asked about price, the Reds are $89 no matter where you get them from: http://www.ebcbrakes.com/WhereToBuy.html

EBC pads break down like this:

$99 Yellow - track use
$89 Red - heavily moded street / light track
$83 Green - lightly moded street
$39 Black - OEM

yeah I am trying to decide on which combo to use on my car if I should go red for the front and green rear

On my previous car I had green on the front and black on the back and yet power to weight between the two cars are almost the same and this car has ABS and EBD...

*UPDATE*

Ok, I've had these on for a week now. They broke in real fast and I've put them to the test!

-They make absolutely ZERO noise. I'm talking not even a chirp
-They stop as good as my Axxis Ultimates
-BEST of all, barely any dust!!!!! I would even go as far to say less dust than stock!

I'm very pleased with them. For sure I will be sticking with this pad for the life of my car. Now since I don't track my car I can't tell you if brake fade resistance equals Axxis, but for street use I HIGHLY recommend them. I still can't get over the dust levels!

Sounds sweet!!!
I was thinking of grabbing a set of EBC's when I installed my R1concept rotors. You might have me sold on those pads...

With mine I experienced absolutely no brake fade whatso ever they are probably the best pads I have ever used they will not eat out your disc like the metal ones(Bendex) and they do leave very minimal dust but if you wash your car every week you will not notice any build up at all... but if you wash the car only every 3 months you will see dust along with mud and dust
