Tarmac Black owners who have had body work...
I posted this in the Ralliart section but figured I would put it here also:
I have a question for Tarmac Black owners who have had a panel repainted. Basically, did it match very well? I was rear-ended a few weeks ago and the repairs were just completed. It looks like a completely different color. The metallic flakes are MUCH more dense and it almost looks gray in direct sun (no, I don't think they sprayed it Phantom Gray).
Now, the strange part is that part of the panel that doesn't match the one next to it wasn't even painted with color, just cleared over as part of the color match on another section of the panel (according to the shop).
The shop's theory is that since it's new clear, the flakes are "popping" more, which I don't buy. The car didn't even look like that when it was new. Any thoughts?

I shopped around for a while until i found a painter who guaranteed his paint would match 100% (with references as well).
Paid off as the repair work was mint & the paint is so much better quality than the ****ty factory paint that scratches when you sneeze close to it!
He even pointed out an old repair to my car (it's second hand) that was not done correctly - thankfully the cars under warranty still.
