Oh right, gotcha. Yeah, the project is suited to the car. Obviously we would be making this a road race or drag monster. The best path IMO is a street performance setup that is well rounded for the street, and maybe the occasional motorsports fun day

Do it Charles! If you ever get that car out east, we'd be happy to donate a free flash and tune for it.

I definitely vote for the 09 Ralliart Project car. That would seriously give us light modders something to go off of and partake in. Color? Blue, Gray, or White. Lately I've been going back and forth between buying a used evo 8, a new RA, or a new X. I think this may help my decision.

I would like to see you make the project Ralliart competitive, performance-wise, with a stock X using cost-effective parts. I think we all want to know if 3k in mods will make this thing into an Evo beater.

So we are thinking towards the future and our next EvoM project car (in addition to the evo 8) and we are thinking the ralliart may make a great addition since it will probably appeal to a larger audience and being how new it is.

So my questions are these:

How important is a site official project car to you?
i would like to see a build thread about it
Do you like official product reviews and put credit in their results?
yes
Do you think the Ralliart is the way to go?
yes, coz hopefully i can afford one, if not it will be an evo6 or 8
What sort of modifications would you like to see?
start with basics and work thruough them all,
ie (no particular order)
intake
exhaust
mbc
ecu flash
pulley
lowered/springs or coilovers
etc
What color?
deff WHITE

We would probably start this project late summer right after our official test of the car in August. Let us know your thoughts

the thing i'd most like to see is something...UNIQUE!!! obviously budget has a lot to do with this but every tune shop, every wannabe tuner, etc. is gonna have a "project car". we'll see tons of dynos, custom parts, auto-x set ups, drag set ups, road racing set ups, etc., etc., etc.... same old baloney....

what i want to see is something different. something exciting that would be unique and something that you'd be the first to do. something you may eventually be known for when you talk about tuning the new RA.

what exactly would this be??? i dunno but if you think of something cool...try it!

i don't wanna read an "official" evom build up just like every other tuner or tuning magazine will run. i wanna see something cool

Well, its hard to be unique on this particular car. The big advantage we would have on this car is being one of if not the first. So technically speaking we would be more of a pioneer in modifying this rather than going for something wild or unique. We would have some of the first independent test results on new products. Depending on what you have in mind, it would be very difficult and costly to do something unique relative to what people will eventually be doing. We also want something that speaks to the larger group of owners.

As far as I go... My point of getting a Ralliart is not to make it into an Evo. If I was to buy an Evo, I'd mod it anyhow (coilovers, DP, exhaust, intake, maybe bigger turbo and IC down the line, etc.). So my arguement is if I'm going to upgrade all those parts, why start with a $35,000 platform (Evo 10) when I can start with a $25,000 platform (RA).

if you want a good looking street car, you're 100% right.

if you want to do any kinda racing that has turns, the RA will be way behind. you can't buy chassis stiffness like an intake or exhaust. same with AYC, increased track, quicker steering, etc, etc, etc....

i see your point now and in that regard it would do the community a LOT of good.

definitely go for it!

PS: as a suggestion for the 1st mod, lets get some real answers on exactly how aggressive you can go with wheel/tires on the RA. all indications are that it's like the GTS but people haven't exactly went nuts with the GTS wheel fitments like the evo guys have.
