You cant effectively do that with suspension too since that will affect things. First would probably be some bolts ons. Suspension and wheels would be very soon. And yes, we would not be intersted in safe fitments. We would tend to want to push it a little. But not past what is fuctional

Depending on what you have in mind, it would be very difficult and costly to do something unique relative to what people will eventually be doing. Way to go Charles, it'd be awesome if you could leverage the forum into being one of the first to get a car to mod. This will be very interesting. But beyond bolt-ons, any interest in working with Cobb? I pinged them about the RA & SST issues awhile back and they were sort of blase, but maybe if they see a real project shaping up it'd be different.

id be more than happy to sell you one (not like im more than few miles from you guys)... but im sure the west coast will get em much faster as was the case with the evo's

but i think its a great idea, I feel this way too (more mass appeal) and will probably order many more ralliarts than evo's based on price and the economy and think this will be a hott seller like the WRX was in its early goings in 2002....

Id love one of these as a DD

Haha I may be bias because I'm talking to my dealer now about picking up one when they come in, but I'd love to see what you guys would do with it...

We would work with anyone that made quality stuff and wanted to work with us. I have done a bit more looking into this, and it seems like its going to be possible. The goal would be to get it mostly modified in time to unveil at SEMA

That's why I made a deposit really early on, so I could force my dealer to get me a colour like orange (and the features I choose) instead of having to settle for some shade of gray from their stock orders -- shame that you guys have to deal to the drab majority who think even dark green and burgundy are too flashy... when did everyone get so dull? Can't blame you for not going out on a limb, but it's a pity that's how it works these days.

There's an old 80's hit song here in Canada -- "black cars look better in the shade" -- the video was full of dancing cross-dressers (who look far better from a distance, naturally, just like black cars do). White cars look great if you wash them compulsively or live in the dry parts of the US southwest. Not sure who thinks grey looks nice, though at least silver looks a bit shiny.

yea its true... Its easy to switch someone who wants a white car or something to silver , black, greys ... Than red, silver or blue...

If it was me and I was buying one of these, I'd do the red... Its the classic mitsu color, my evo 8 was red and its called "rally" red, so its a natural fit for the ralliart!! LOL

I think its a great idea, id personally like to see how much power can be gained with some bolt ons before the SST will need to be tuned, and im sure theres alot of other light mod guys that could use this info too.

On the X, another 50-60 at the crank was possible with:

AMS Single tip Catback
AMS Performance intake pipe
AMS Upper intercooler pipe
AMS Front Mount intercooler

Hopefully, the RA will allow that much. I bet they'll have some roadblocks in the way to increasing power b/c I think they're probably counting on this car being low stress / low warranty claims for the SST. This is in contrast to the X which is gonna a lot closer to the margin and probably cost them more in warranty repairs/replacements.

The key is, how long will the SST hold out with that power increase.

i know this has already been said, but after reading the edmunds latest review of the RA, tires seem the way to go.

also see if there is any thing you can do about weight reduction - needs atleast 100kg/200lbs gone

as edmunds compared it to a GTS, maybe u guys could do the same, stock for stock, and then both with light bolt-ons.
i would like to see is TBE, MBC and tune, then compared to GTS with intake, PB, pulley.

something like that.
thanks
-Steven

*** edit
thought id add, if u can, put it up against a wrx and MS3 stock for stock

if you guys got a ralliart as a project car that would be sick
and unveiling it at SEMA would be a good way to spread the word about evom
i say go for it
i want a ralliart myself but i would like to see some reviews and im sure i would trust the evom guys over some of the other car reviews done by some magazines
