First 09 Ralliart Review

Insideline just took out baby Evo:

Looks nice and sounds like an impressive package Mitsu is putting out.

New ralliart looks awesome and sounds very awesome, only thing i dont like is down at the bottom of the article where it talks about price. If it really is true that the ralliart will be around $30,000, I personally would rather spend the $33k-$35 for an evo x. It just doesnt seem to make logical sense to spend that much money on a car for when just a bit more you could own an evo. Also another big let down is that there will be no 5 speed transmission!! I understand there will be mixed feelings to my post, but its just my thoughts.

Sounds pretty good. You guys notice that they said the engine is exactly the same as the evo except for intake and turbo? I'm also wondering why they did'nt get any performance times on it? The only things that concern me are the no manual offered for 09 (hopefully for 2010 if enough of us complain), the summer only tires (but probably not that bad in the winter since it is awd), and I'm not sure if I like how the recaros look. I wonder how comfortable they are as I'm starting to get to that age when the hips start hurting after longer drives. Leather would also be a good option to have. Oh yeah, price? I'm still hopeful of 26k for a base model, but will probably have to pony up to the seats, sound, and hids. I would'nt think that would be more than a couple grand or so. btw, gas mileage, if accurate, doesn't sound that bad either, about the same as my spec and the RA had awd and weighs about 500 more pounds...

the recaros are the same as the evo-x from the pictures... and if it starts at 26k... probably 32k loaded. 2000 or so for each package. the seats are amazing.. lol i sat in the gsr and man those seats are as my good friend says "the sex".

32k loaded seems a bit high

Still hoping for a 28-29k fully loaded, otherwise im buying a G8.

A GTS fully loaded only cost about 3 over the base

Arnett said a mid 20's price range

I think 27-29 fully loaded seems reasonable and if the base price is too high, they wont compete with Subaru

I also wonder the accuracy of this statement

"Driving a Ralliart probably won't stop you from wanting the full-on Evo X experience. But when the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart goes on sale at the beginning of September 2008"

September of 08, does that mean at the dealer, or you can "order" them

At least we've got an original DSM'r working for Mitsubishi!

"Like many Mitsubishi employees, Arnett used to drive an Evo, but more interesting to us is that before he worked for Mitsu, he was a die-hard owner of an Eclipse GSX, a car more in keeping with the spirit of the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart. "

At least in Canada, dealers apparently can order them now, though I don't think they have feature/package info until next week (or later this month).

Not such great news that Mitsubishi seems to be thinking of pricing the Ralliart high... doesn't fill much of the gap between $20k (GTS) and $33k (Evo X GSR) if they price it at $29k!

Since we can get the a X for less than 30k base in socal, that pricing makes no sense at all. Make it 24k and maybeeeeeeeeeeee
