Im sure i wont have any issues with rubbing the fenders with +50 offset lowered 2" all round but will there be any issues with clearing the calipers and rubbing against the struts?

I wouldn't pull the trigger on those unless they are test fitted first with rubber. Even if they fit they will look tucked.

Depends on the offset. Moving to 225s from 215s seems a waste though.

Yeah really. You are wasting 8.0 wheels with 225's, as you may as well go up to 235.

I believe the stock rims are 7.5 so 235 will fit but it's pretty well the max you can safely run on those wheels. 225's would be cheaper and better suited to the stock rims.

According to the Road & Track comparison I just flipped through they list them as 18 x 7.5.

Owners manual says 18x7, so 235s would be a bit of a stretch

235's would not be safe on 18 x 7 wheels so it sounds like 225's are the best option if you are keeping the stock wheels which are probably pretty heavy and not worth it unless you can't afford new wheels.

They're 18x7's -- I have my stock wheels & tires hanging down on a rack in my basement, if you need a photo with a ruler to prove the stock size is 18x7.

Some of the comparison cars Mitsubishi provided seem to have had the wheels & tires changed from stock, which is fairly realistic, since that's what every Ralliart owner should do (toss the stock wheels and tires). Maybe that's where your 18x7.5 number comes from.
