HID fogs defeat the purpose of fogs.

It's all about finding new ways to blind people now lol. Fogs are nice but I rarely ever use them unless conditions require them. I always wondered why you see these people on clear days running fog lights as it's nothing more than an additional load on your electrical system.

Kind of confused.

How would using 3k temperature HID fogs defeat the purpose?

I've used my fogs maybe a half dozen times and even then, they weren't much help.

I have LED fogs. I used to sell hid fogs till I saw in certain conditions the hids will dull out the chrome in the housings. Even 35 watt sytems put out to much heat.

Fogs are dim for a reason. You don't the light to be bright because it actually hurts your visibility during foggy weather. You only want to illuminate what is directly in front of you. If you have really bright fogs, you'll get horrible glare off the fog and your eyes won't be able to adjust properly.

No need to put HID's in your fogs. Just swap them out for those yellow bulbs

even on high end cars like the Lexus LS600 and Escalade Platnium that use new LED headlights... will still use halogen foglights. HIDs take the useful bar shape fog light patter, and turns it into a big blob.

Most cars don't allow you to run your fogs without having your lights turned on which already makes it difficult to see. If you had really bright fogs, you're basically turning your fogs into useless lower headlights.
