Gosh! Water getting under the hood?

It's not a problem. If it were you could never wash your car, or drive in the rain, or drive over a puddle, ...

I'm pretty sure this happens to every one of us!

Nothing to worry about unless your fully submerging your engine!

wow....
OP should really consider using ductape and seal off the vents, in and out along with the underside of the engine....just incase. If you don't have any tape, best bet is to use glad press-n-seal

I've heard of this concern b4 on the Evo's but nothing to worry about. As mx4life said, u will be fine as long as u dont submerge it.

I always wondered about this too but on an older RA. Even if the water gets into the engine bay it should be okay as long as it doesnt soak the intake I assume?

Is anybody genuinely convinced that Mitsubishi could or would sell a car with hood vents if it wasn't safe for snow-melt or rainfall to get through? C'mon now.

Of course water comes in.. Gets all over everything. Flows over the intake pipes, the battery, exhaust manifold, engine block... I figure if it was bad they wouldn't make it that way. My 2005 is still running fine and the water hasn't seemed to hurt anything other than getting water spots on the intake pipes. But that can be polished off.
