missing bolts/pieces!

I was driving home 2 weeks ago and everything was fine and then when i pulled in my driveway something sounded wierd. I felt like looking under the hood and what do you know there are missing pop-in (screws?) where the air duct meets the front of the frame and also both of the battery cover nuts were missing! Yay! Brought it to dealer no problem they ordered the pieces. Been 2 weeks and still no call about pieces coming in.
Also when I got the car one of the FAST keys were missing so i went to dealer and they gave me new key. They didnt have the actual manual key that pops out so im still waiting for that.. its been a month. Just figured I would ask if anyone else had little problems like this w their RA?

Not for me so far. You should have had everything checked before you take it off the lot. I do this all time even though I don't trust them or any stealerships to do my car. Only under certain circumstance, I would allow it.

Yeah I learned my lesson. I guess I just wanted to get the thing off the lot and onto the road.

I dont like bringing the car to the dealer either. When i brought it there to ask for the parts they pulled it in and threw it up on the lift which was completely unnecessary, and it took them 45 mintues to look at the car, which then they finally asked me to show them what was missing. I showed them the obvious holes where screws should be and the guy just said "oh.."

epic fail.

LOL!! That's my point about them wonderfully so called ASE Certified mechanics!!!! That is totally pathetic man!!! Yes I can understand how you just wanted to get it off the lot and then play with it!! We all go through that phase. I guarantee you that you will try harder with it in the near future and it is well worth it!! But just don't overdo it though.

Almost no one would have spotted the missing screws, but you shouldn't have driven off without a complete set of keys. That's extremely dodgy -- key remotes cost a fortune, and you might actually have to have the manual key if your FASTkey system decides to break down somewhere inconvenient. Also, when they do get the replacement remote in, you'll have to go in and wait while they reprogram everything to match, which is a ridiculous waste of your time, on top of not getting the key to begin with.

yeah i know. but im young and stupid lol. They reprogrammed everything already just waiting for the key which shouldnt be too much longer. But about the screws.. isnt there a new car prep team or someone that looks them over? Someone is slacking at the dealership

Now i have a MOPAR sticker on my windshield telling me to come back at 3k miles. eff that.

So you bought the car at a Dodge dealership?? That would be fine but just bring the car to a Mitsubishi dealer other than the one you went to. I am sure there are others within 40 miles of a distance. Look around until you feel comfortable with them. What motor oil did you use? Did they explain what it is and such? As far as I know if you use Mobil 1 Synthetic, it doesn't need to be changed within 5000 miles. Unless I am mistaken?

I didn't buy it at a dodge dealer lol. I bought it at a Mitsu dealer but im guessing they have all of the work done at the dodge dealer because thats where I have been bringing it. I just did my oil today with my brother. Didnt use synthetic... I've heard from lots of friends and people that have tested both that cars w turbos go better w regular oil not the synthetic stuff.

Depending on the brand they're using. I have been there with my mustang which had a twin turbo. I was simply not getting great performance with the regular oil then I decided to make the switch to synthetic performance as in AMSOIL and not a single day I looked back. I was getting better results everywhere in my engine and reliability as well. Don't go using Purple Royal, IMO, they're the BIGGEST over rated product!!!

I will be doing the oil changes myself when I get a box of AMSOIL coming to my house.

The best synthetics (and blends) will always be better than anything else -- just a whole lot more chemistry possible, once you step away from just using crude oil derivatives. There's no point living your life by decades-old old-wives tales, unless you enjoy making auto shops reserve as much shelf space as possible for superstitious cheapskates.

Well i could, and probably, be wrong. I figured synthetic was much better also until people were telling me otherwise. I guess for now the regular stuff will do, once I start working on the car, Ill be sure to put synthetic.
