If you don't want to void the warranty, don't mod the car at all. An intake without a tune will void the warranty just as much as an intake with a tune, however one of those is safer and better.

+1.

Without a tune you are not going to see much performance gains, anyways.

You can go the OpenPorts/email flash route and then have the option of flashing back to stock if the "need" arises.

But, if you are afraid of voiding the warrenty, leave it stock.

i already talked to my dealer and they said things such as intake and piping will not void the warranty. and i dont want to have to keep reflashing if i go to the dealer for warranty work. why couldnt it be like my focus where i had a pre set SCT xcal tuner so i can personally hook it up and load a perf. tune and put it back to stock when i want. that was so nice and simple and only cost like 200 lol

^ It all depends on your stealership what voids the warranty, some won't let you touch a single thing, others will let you mod everything almost. It really depends on them.
I believe there is a few people on EvoM flashing their own ecu's, im sure if you PM them they will help you out.

You need/want a reflash with an intake anyways, why spend money for a mod only to gain 10 HP (if that) and potentially throw the stock tune out of whack (costing power) when you can spend a bit more and get significant gains? Supposedly Cobb may come out with an Accessport for the Ralliart which would make reflashing a snap.

I think there is some other really good news on the horizon very soon as well. But wait? I think we are getting a little off topic.

any idea where they are going to put it, and how they are going to get cold air to it? i still think you will have to modify something, whether it be hood or bumper to get some air in. obviously putting it in the fender doesnt work because of the tranny.

intake is a waste o' cash on this or evo if you don't plan on going mafless, big turbo or anything like that. Exhaust is where these cars wake-up. Catback should n't effect warranty since that section is not really covered, front exhast pipe & cat converter are warranty items as stated in booklet. you could probably run the big down pipe, but be ready to put the stock one back on for warranty work. Same w/ re-flash, should switch it back to stock for diagnosis (unless they can detect it).

Its their design and I haven't been told its Ok to talk specifics.

Ive seen the plan and it makes perfect and obvious sense to me. Hell I can see two other easy ways to get cold air in so long as you have the right resources. Maybe some companies just dont see the financial benefit of going through the trouble or they dont have the frabrication resources, IDK, but I would hope that not all of us are that blind to some basic creativity.

Now CP-E has a complete exhaust system out there and the numbers show that these cars do wake up on the top end. You've seen the video and all three sections are available. Again, you can get more with a tune but you dont have too.

Ive got lots more info coming and Ill post it when I get it. I think in the end we will all be very pleasantly suprised. I for one am looking for big power without using a big budget. Spending a G for a warranty voiding intake that will damage my engine without a flash I never actually own and a battery thats still in the way is not exactly my idea of ideal.

I'm guessing it feeds from the fender?

Buy an email flash from AMS (or another tuner) and a OpenPort Cable and flash away.

Wow, all this talk about voiding warranties and no one brought up the z-chip. Thats your best bet for tuning and being able to remove it without a huge PITA. Me, I'm relocating my battery to the trunk just to do a custom intake and for a better 50/50 weight ditribution. But to each his own.

the z chip involves some splicing and retapping. you could find that it had been installed. getting a flash is nuch more ninja. Its also much more limited in its control then actually using the ecu.
