Yes, he was obviously driving fast. You made your point, now go away. He didn't come on here to listen to you lecture him about what he obviously already learned through the damage to his car. Just because he was driving fast doesn't mean there were not rocks out in the road.

Do you only come to this forums for a chance to give your lecture?

For the record, "I live in the same city and the rocks are only on the sides of the road" is the only reason I responded. This statement -1 for you.

[edit - spelling]
Of course I didn't drive down every road but you can't seriously think that in a city the size of Calgary (over a million people) there is going to be some massive discrepancy between road conditions (in the gravel accumulation sense). We have street sweepers and they've been out in force, the roads (at least the parts you drive on) have been cleared, the only way to flip a car as he did is to massively exceed the road conditions and the car's abilities.
How am I "lecturing" him? By clarifying that there was no snow and that the roads are dry and clear? That sure sounds like lecturing to me .

Hope you're ok man. That sucks big time... Any news from the Insurance?

I have a friend of mine who went too fast into a curve also and messed up both his front/rear right wheels... at some extent I havea feeling u were going a bit too fast; I've done it in my car also especially in curves and its not funny, the RA is not as good in curves and scary a bit...

Feel better

I would think it's done, hopefully the insurance don't give you any grief.
Rollovers generally don't fair well on most vehicles. We rolled 8 times down in a hill in my wife's old blazer, that didn't end well at all.

My point is you are trying to make it out like he was saying the city was at fault for his accident. And to say you know the roads are not that bad is a joke. I could care less how big the city is. For all you know a company could be driving trucks full of rocks for a job down the same road for the past week. And guess what could be flying out of the trucks and onto the road? **GASP** pebbles.

I just dont understand your objective of trying to disprove there could have been poor road conditions to add to his speeding?

First post

i offiicially hate living in my city....its still below 0 degree celcius...when the hell is it spring??? its mid april already! stupid rocks every!
ugh anywayz coming out of a turn hit a pile of stupid pebbles when flying right into a curb rolled my car like 5-6 times into a ditch......and now i dont have a car....
ugh good day....
He says he hates the city and then goes on to state that it's cold out and there are rocks everywhere. He doesn't say anything about it being his own fault, it is fairly obvious that he is blaming the roads and the thus the city for not clearing the roads. I live here and I know it's a BS argument. Even if the roads were covered in gravel (ala a rally course) or snow, he would still have gone too fast for the conditions. This isn't a situation of someone cutting him off or sideswiping him, this is a self-induced crash.

He's talking out of frustration GENIUS can't you tell. I'm sure he knows his mistakes.

If someone told you to go jump the niagra falls would you take them literally?
Do you take every conversation literally? If you were the genious you pretend to be you would think critically about what people are trying to say

and telling someone you don't feel pity isn't encouraging at all.

Agreed. I think he knows what he was doing wrong and learned about his mistakes. And I know for sure if you had totaled you car, you sure as hell wouldn't want some guy telling you how its ALL your fault. He lived through it, thats all that matters. RIP Ralliart....

And? He posted that he was mad at the city for not clearing the gravel and indicated that this caused the accident when it didn't, it was his own fault. Your analogy doesn't work at all, that is clearly a hyperbole. It's also traditional to spell genius, genius, not genious. Pity is for people that deserve it, not those that cause their own demise.

Because I wouldn't blame the city, I'd know it was my fault if I crashed my car on dry pavement due to excessive speed.

Yes, I know you would. But maybe the roads were actually a big part of the crash... Only the driver knows, and he said the road had patches of gravel (or one patch). We can't change the circumstances that he was in and then call him an idiot for getting into an accident because according to you, the roads are bone dry....

And you know this how? Anyways, as I said, I live in the same city, the road was not the issue. Even if there was gravel on the road, if he was going fast enough to flip the car, he was going too fast. Everyone has hit gravel and *gasp* if you're going at a reasonably safe speed, you're fine. We're not talking about some 5 ton truck made in 1976, we're talking about the Ralliart, a car people like to claim is a great performing car. Are you telling me some gravel can fell a Ralliart driving at the speed limit/a safe speed for a corner? If that's the case, it's a POS car (which we know it isn't).

He said he hit a patch of gravel in the first post...

I never said he was going speed limit, neither did he... Im just saying that according to him, the guy who got in the car accident we are talking about, the road had gravel on it. I'm pretty sure he knows what he hit and how he hit it, not you. Thats all I'm saying...

Yes, and, as I said before, there is gravel on the roads but the street sweepers have been out in force for the past week removing the majority of it. Is there still some on the roads? Sure but not enough to explain this as a freak accident. Clearly he was speeding and clearly that was the major factor. I haven't heard of anyone else running into this issue and I probably know enough people to have covered the entire city. He also claims to have flipped his car several times in the first post only to claim it actually wasn't that bad later on, to me that suggests he's hiding something/not facing reality.
